We recently connected with Kilmar Ramirez and have shared our conversation below.
Kilmar, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
Honestly, my work ethic comes from two things: being raised with traditional values and going through life as a woman who had to figure things out for herself. I’ve always believed in showing up early, staying late, and making sure everything I do has purpose. I’m originally from Venezuela, so I grew up understanding resilience. Nothing was ever handed to me. I had to build it. And when I created Eggvise, I didn’t just want to build a business, I wanted to set a new standard in an industry that can sometimes feel transactional. I pour myself into every detail because I know what’s at stake for both the donors and the families we’re helping. It’s not just business for me it’s deeply personal. That’s where my drive comes from. I don’t believe in shortcuts. I believe in building something that lasts.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m the founder of Eggvise, a boutique egg and sperm donor agency where I personally match intended parents with exceptional donors so they can build the family they’ve always dreamed of. What I do is very intentional. I’m a scout, a connector, and a guide in one of the most meaningful decisions someone will ever make. I focus on finding donors who aren’t just beautiful and intelligent but aligned with the emotional and personal values of the family.
What makes Eggvise special is that we approach this with elegance, compassion, and strategy. I’ve worked in fertility, I’ve been a donor myself, and I built Eggvise to be everything I wish I had seen in this space: transparent, ethical, personalized. We even integrate astrology and birth charts into our process so intended parents can feel a deeper connection to the donor’s energy and personality it’s one of the things our clients love the most.
On the donor side, I work with driven, educated young women who want to reach financial goals whether that’s launching a business, continuing their studies, or simply creating stability. I protect them, I advocate for them, and I make sure they’re treated with the respect they deserve.
Right now, we’re expanding internationally and continuing to grow our presence online with bold, honest, and empowering content. My mission is to change how people view egg donation, not as something transactional or secretive, but as something deeply human, empowering, and life-affirming when done right.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Resilience (with a sense of humor)
Startups are not just ups and downs—they’re downs, downs, and maybe an up when you least expect it. I’ve had weeks where everything clicks, and others where I question everything. What kept me going wasn’t perfection—it was purpose. If you’re building something from scratch, expect chaos. Just don’t let it shake your vision.
2. Adaptability
Things change fast in entrepreneurship—clients fall through, partnerships shift, strategies evolve overnight. I’ve learned to pivot quickly without losing direction. Be flexible, but don’t lose your core. Adaptation is survival.
3. Clear Messaging
In a startup, you wear every hat. Being able to communicate your offer, your value, and your mission clearly (on a call, on IG, or in a pitch deck) is essential. Don’t wait to be “perfect”—speak up, even while you’re figuring it out.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
The person who’s been most helpful in my journey has been me. Building a business from scratch is no joke—it’s crying one minute, then hopping on a call to help someone build their dream family the next. It’s showing up on Instagram to build trust, even when you don’t feel like being seen. It’s solving problems no one else sees, turning off fires, and doing the behind-the-scenes work every single day, whether you feel inspired or not.
Some days are beautiful—you feel powerful, aligned, like you’re making a real difference. And other days, you feel invisible. But I’ve learned that everything is temporary. The good, the bad—it all moves. What matters is staying grounded, learning from the hard moments, and fully enjoying the good ones when they come. That’s the real journey of entrepreneurship.
