Meet Kim Taylor

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kim Taylor. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kim below.

Kim , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Finding one’s purpose in life has been a deeply personal and spiritual journey. While I don’t have specific information about your individual circumstances, I can provide some general guidance on how I discovered my purpose. Here are a few steps that might help you find your purpose in life:

Self-reflection: Take the time to reflect on your values, interests, and strengths. What activities or topics make you feel energized and fulfilled? What are your natural talents and skills? Consider what brings you joy and satisfaction in different areas of your life and how God created you.

Explore your passions: Engage in activities that genuinely interest you. Try new hobbies, volunteer for causes you care about, or pursue educational opportunities in subjects that intrigue you. Exploring various interests can help you uncover hidden passions and narrow down what truly resonates with you. This is how I got into real estate…a passion for helping people.

Set meaningful goals: Define specific goals that align with your values and interests. Identify what you want to achieve in different aspects of your life, whether it’s related to your career, relationships, personal growth, spiritual growth or contributing to society. Setting goals provides direction and a sense of purpose.

Embrace your strengths: Recognize and leverage your unique strengths and abilities. Consider the skills you excel at and enjoy using. Focusing on your strengths can lead to a greater sense of fulfillment and purpose. This is why I love being the team lead at the Kim Taylor Real Estate Group.

Seek inspiration and role models: Learn from others who have found their purpose or are living a life that aligns with their values. Read books, watch documentaries, or listen to podcasts about individuals who have made a significant impact in areas that interest you. Their stories can provide inspiration and insights and it is imperative in your personal growth journey!

Embrace challenges and setbacks: Recognize that finding your purpose is often a journey filled with ups and downs. Challenges and setbacks are natural parts of life, but they can also provide valuable lessons and growth opportunities. Embrace them as part of your personal development.

Reflect on your impact: Consider the ways in which you can make a positive difference in the lives of others or contribute to the betterment of your surroundings, which could be your school, city, workplace or even on a state level. Reflect on how your unique strengths and passions can be applied to serve a larger purpose beyond yourself.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a wife to my high school sweetheart of 34 years and a mom to my four grown kids. After homeschooling for 9 years, we put the kids in public school and I started working with my hubby is oil and gas. In 2015, when the Oil & Gas industry started to tank again, we decided to be proactive prior to another round of layoffs and my hubby suggested I get my real estate license. I didn’t take a second thought and before I knew it, he had me all signed up for classes the next week. The rest is really history. I did 28 transactions at around $4.5M my first year….I felt like I had walked into my destiny. In 2018 I did a brokerage change, which for me at that time was a pinnacle point in my career. I started KTREG (Kim Taylor Real Estate Group) in 2019 and my husband joined me then, after he was laid off one final time in the oil & gas industry. Joining together to find our purpose for our team has been my greatest joy. Don’t get me wrong, some days it’s tough. But…when we do need a break, he just grabs his laptop and heads to the lake on the boat! After being a top producer on my own for 4 years, it was time to expand. The Lord has been so good to organically bring people to us! Over the past few years, we have made our way to a large team at JPAR Real Estate ranking up Diamond and Double Diamond status, selling over $25M in sales in 2022. We are in the Chairman’s Club, which is the Top 1% GCI nationwide and I personally was nominated as Agent of the Year in 2021 and 2022. I have also been named in D Magazine and Fort Worth Magazine the past several years as a Top Realtor for my personal sales and am a part of the Real Producer family, which is the Top 500 Agents in DFW.
After getting my broker’s license in 2021, we decided to branch out on our own this June, starting KTREG Real Estate. We (being my entire team and my hubby) could not be more thrilled to begin this journey together!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My team has a set of core values we follow. They are to Build lasting relationships, Give Back to our church/community, Quick Response Time (always!), Rise above, and Exceed their Expectations!

As far as just 3 areas of knowledge that have been the most impactful, I would say putting God first in our business ultimately has had the biggest impact. The second thing is being quick to respond. Many agents don’t respond quickly or even call back. I tell me team, we are rising above that and exceeding everyone’s expectations in that area! The last one would be, to lead by example. I want to train my team members to be the best realtor they can be. To duplicate myself. A rising tide sails all ships! My favorite quote is: A sign of a good leader is not how many followers you have, but how many leaders you create.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
So an ideal client for us is anyone looking to buy or sell in the real estate market. We love working with sellers. We offer free staging with all of our listings and can offer remodel options, if needed. We love working with buyers. Whether you are a first time buyer or an empty nester, we can navigate your needs!
