We were lucky to catch up with Kim Trinh recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kim, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
“Supportive women. Successful women. Confident women. Working in an industry where I design bikinis made to make women feel confident has been the ultimate inspiration. The encouragement and success stories from women who love our designs drive me to keep pushing forward. When women support each other, incredible things happen, and that support fuels my work ethic every day.”

Kim, the visionary behind Beaches Only Swim, launched the brand with a simple yet powerful mission: to provide high-quality swimwear that not only looks good but also feels good. Based in the heart of Los Angeles, CA, Kim has always been inspired by the serene beaches and the lively energy of beach-goers.
“We wanted to create a brand that resonates with those who love the beach lifestyle” says Kim. “Our products are designed to be breathable, durable, and stylish, ensuring that our customers feel confident and comfortable.”
Expanding beyond swimwear, Beaches Only Swim is now venturing into the realm of activewear. The upcoming fall 2024 collection promises to blend the best of both worlds, featuring beach-breathable activewear that is perfect for both workout sessions and casual beach days.
“This new line is all about versatility,” Kim explains. “Whether you’re hitting the gym, practicing yoga by the sea, or just enjoying a leisurely day at the beach, our activewear will keep you cool and comfortable.”
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on my journey, three key skills have been particularly impactful: networking, creativity, and designing. These skills are integral to my daily routine, whether I’m planning campaign shoots, posting on social media, managing PR relations, or refining designs.
For those early in their journey, my advice is to remain passionate and persistent. Each of these skills—networking, creativity, and designing—can be developed and improved over time with dedication and an open mind. Embrace challenges as learning opportunities, and always strive for excellence in everything you do.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
In the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been embracing constructive feedback from our customers and implementing the necessary changes with our manufacturers when we restock. Listening to our customers has been incredibly valuable, as their insights and experiences help us improve our products. This process has not only enhanced the quality of our swimwear but has also strengthened our relationship with our customers, showing them that we genuinely care about their satisfaction and comfort.
We’ve adopted a more responsive and iterative approach to design and production, ensuring that every new batch of products reflects the preferences and needs of our community. This has led to higher customer satisfaction and loyalty, and it’s been rewarding to see our efforts resonate with the people who wear our designs.
Moving forward, I am committed to maintaining this cycle of feedback and improvement, as it is essential for the continued growth and success of Beaches Only Swim.
