Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Kimberly with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
Growing up, my parents instilled in me the importance of giving my all in everything I do—to give 110%, take responsibility for my actions, stay true to my word, and work hard for what I want in life. They taught me that I can accomplish anything if I’m willing to put in the effort, and that mindset has guided me ever since. Over the years, life has reinforced these core values through experience, challenges, and growth. My work ethic is deeply rooted in these early lessons and has been strengthened through every stage of life.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am Kimberly Bramwell, the owner of Kimberly Bramwell Photography. I specialize in portrait photography and I am known for being a natural light family, senior and small wedding photographer. I have recently started doing Pop-Up Photo Booths for events- from creating to capturing the memories and all the in-between with that I enjoy it. It is something fun and new to add to my services for my clients!
My passion for photography began in college, when I started casually taking photos for friends and family just for fun. Over time, I fell in love with the entire process—from planning and styling shoots to capturing the moments and editing the final images.
Now in my eighth year of growing my photography business as a second job, I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited about the continued growth ahead. What I love most is connecting with each client and designing personalized sessions that reflect their unique stories. Whether it’s family portraits for Christmas cards, maternity shoots, birthdays, senior pictures, engagements, or weddings, I feel honored to help capture life’s big and small moments. The excitement and joy I bring to my clients when they receive their photos is what makes it all so rewarding.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, the three things that have had the biggest impact on my journey are my work ethic, the ability to connect with people, and leaning into both creativity and faith.
My work ethic was something my parents instilled in me early on. They taught me to give 110%, take responsibility, stay true to my word, and work hard for what I want in life. That mindset has shaped how I approach everything—from my full-time job to growing my photography business over the last eight years. My advice for anyone just starting out is: don’t be afraid of hard work. Show up even when it’s hard, even when you don’t see results right away. That consistency will take you far.
Building genuine connections has also played a huge role in my journey. Whether I’m working with clients during a photoshoot or just in everyday life, I’ve learned that people want to feel seen and understood. For anyone early in their journey: listen well, be kind, and be real. Relationships built on trust and care will always matter.
And most importantly—for me, faith is what keeps me grounded, especially when things get overwhelming. There have been many moments where I’ve felt anxiety or pressure creeping in, and in those times, I turn to God. I pray, I listen to worship music, and I fill my mind with His truth instead of the lies of fear or doubt. One of my favorite verses is 1 Peter 5:7—“Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”. That’s exactly what I try to do. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, my advice is simple: turn to God. He’s always there, and He can carry what you were never meant to hold alone.
I’m still growing and learning—but I know those three things—work ethic, connection, and faith-fueled creativity—have truly shaped who I am and how I keep moving forward.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When life gets overwhelming, I’ve learned that I can’t carry it all on my own. There have been countless times where anxiety starts to build, or the pressure of trying to balance everything feels like too much. In those moments, I’ve found the only true source of peace is God. I pause, I pray, I put on worship music, and I intentionally shift my focus from everything going wrong to everything God has already carried me through. I remind myself of His promises and His presence.
Jeremiah 29:11 has always been a grounding promise for me: “For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”. In seasons of uncertainty or heaviness, this verse reminds me that God’s plans are good—even when I can’t see the full picture. It gives me hope and the courage to keep going. And when the weight feels too much, I turn to 1 Peter 5:7: “Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”. That verse is a reminder that I don’t have to carry it all. God invites me to release the fear, the pressure, the unknown—and trust that His hands are more capable than mine. These promises remind me that I’m never alone, always loved, and always held in His plan.
If you’re in a season of feeling overwhelmed, my advice is simple but life-changing: turn to God. Talk to Him honestly. You don’t need fancy words—just a willing heart. Surround yourself with truth, whether that’s through scripture, worship music, or simply sitting in silence and reminding yourself that you’re not alone. He sees you, He cares for you, He’s strong enough to hold everything you’re carrying, and He has a good plan for your future.
Over the years, this has become more than just something I say—it’s something I live by. My faith doesn’t make life perfect, but it anchors me when everything else feels uncertain. And that anchor has made all the difference.
