Meet Kimberly Jackson

We were lucky to catch up with Kimberly Jackson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

Hello, my name is Kimberly Jackson. I am honored to share my life and this incredible journey with you. I am the proud mother of two beautiful children, my daughter Ciara and my son Marcus. As I reflect on the path God has led me on, I can truly say that every step has been part of a greater purpose, not just for my own life, but for those I’ve been blessed to walk alongside.

One of the most pivotal moments in my life was when I realized that there was more to my spiritual walk than what I had been experiencing. But before I reached that point, my confidence and self-esteem were shaped largely by my upbringing. Growing up in a single-parent home, my mother, Lola, and my three older brothers, Dexter, William, and Eric, were my world. I also have other siblings through my father; though we didn’t grow up together, we have a beautiful relationship today.

My mother played a huge role in my sense of self—she made all of us feel as if we could do anything we put our minds to. She was always supportive and loving, not only to her own children but to others in the community as well. She was like the neighborhood mother, always welcoming other children with open arms. Watching her care for others and seeing the impact she had on those around her shaped the way I am about others today.

However, life dealt me a challenging hand when I lost my mother to a rare form of breast cancer—inflammatory cancer—when I was just 19 years old and in college. She was diagnosed, and within six months, she was gone. It was a devastating loss, and it turned my world upside down. At that age, I was still discovering who I was, and losing my greatest support during such a formative time forced me to ask, “Who is Kimberly at this stage?”

In the midst of that loss, I had to remind myself of the lessons my mother had taught me. She always told us that we were capable and strong, and in those difficult moments, I clung to those memories. But it wasn’t easy—I made mistakes, and there were times when I felt like I was lost. Yet, I would always think about how my mother would have handled things, and that gave me the strength to keep moving forward.

As life went on, I got married and started a family, and that brought a whole new set of challenges. I found myself at another crossroads, realizing that I needed something greater to sustain me. That’s when my life took a major turn, and I found Christ. Finding my faith became the anchor I needed to navigate the complexities of marriage, motherhood, and my own personal growth. It was during this time that I truly began to understand the depth of the lessons my mother had instilled in me—her belief in my potential, her example of kindness and strength, and the foundation of faith that would carry me through the toughest moments.

This journey of self-discovery, healing, and faith not only strengthened my confidence but also prepared me to help others find their own clarity and purpose. It laid the foundation for Divine Destiny Center, which God inspired me to establish in 2008. What began as a simple outreach for young girls and women has grown into a Outreach Ministry and a restoration center, focused on healing from the inside out. Our goal is to create a space where women can understand their identity, discover their purpose, and thrive spiritually, emotionally, and personally.

Looking back, I can see that the journey of renewing my mind, learning to see myself as God does, and leaning on the lessons my mother taught me was a vital part of my growth. It taught me that confidence comes from embracing who you are authentically and believing that your life has purpose. My hope is that my story will encourage others to embrace their own journey with God, trusting Him in the small moments, letting go of limiting beliefs, and allowing those moments to shape their lives in profound ways.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Hello, my name is Kimberly Jackson, and I’m passionate about guiding others on their journeys toward clarity, purpose, and transformation. I am the founder of Divine Destiny Center, the nonprofit outreach of Divine Destiny Outreach Ministries. Through this center, I focus on empowering young girls and women, helping them understand their identity, discover their purpose, and experience deep healing from the inside out. Our mission is to create a space where women can thrive spiritually, emotionally, and professionally.

What I find most exciting and special about this work is witnessing the transformation in the lives of those we serve. Seeing a young girl realize her worth for the first time or watching a woman rediscover her purpose after a season of loss and confusion is incredibly rewarding. It’s not just about providing resources or mentorship; it’s about offering a space for renewal and growth. At Divine Destiny Center, we provide workshops, mentorship programs, and community outreach activities that help women and young girls reconnect with who they truly are and who God has called them to be.

Our outreach efforts are diverse and impactful. We provide Care Connect baskets quarterly to women in battered shelters, rehabilitation centers, and other facilities, ensuring that they feel seen, valued, and supported. We also have the opportunity to work with girls in the foster care system, providing them with mentorship and a sense of stability. Additionally, our outreach extends to sharing necessities with the unhoused community, meeting essential needs for those who are often overlooked. Every year, we host book bag giveaways through our Striving 4 Excellence program which focus on education and leadership to ensure that children are equipped and ready for school, reinforcing our commitment to education and support for the next generation.

A vital part of our outreach is the Her Destiny Women’s Program, which focuses on building up women through spiritual and personal empowerment. This program provides a space for growth, reflection, and community, encouraging women to explore their purpose and walk confidently in their God-given identity. It’s designed to offer support and guidance for women at all stages of their journey, helping them grow into their fullest potential.

Another key part of our work is The Lioness Circle (TLC), which is part of Divine Destiny Center. TLC serves as an online book club and podcast platform where women can gather virtually to discuss books that inspire spiritual growth, personal development, and transformation. Through group discussions and author interviews, we explore themes that resonate deeply with women, helping them find strength and encouragement through shared stories and insights. TLC provides a sense of community and connection, allowing women to support each other on their journey of growth and faith.

In addition to leading Divine Destiny Center, I am also the CEO of KCM, LLC, which serves as a hub for my coaching, speaking engagements, and other ventures that reflect the visions and purposes God has placed in my heart. KCM is about sharing my passion for helping others step boldly into their callings, and I’m excited about some new initiatives we have coming soon under this brand—though I’ll keep the details a surprise for now!

My background in psychology has been instrumental in shaping the way I approach this work. It has equipped me to understand the deeper aspects of emotional and mental wellness, allowing me to better support those I coach and mentor. I blend this understanding with my faith-based approach, creating a holistic path to personal growth and transformation.

Recently, I wrote a book and journal workbook titled “Me, Myself, and God,” which is designed to help women deepen their relationship with God through daily reflections and spiritual growth. This book is just one of many I have planned, as my heart is geared towards creating journals and practical self-help books that encourage readers to move beyond head knowledge and put what they learn into action. It’s been a rewarding project, and I’m excited about the impact it’s already making.

In terms of what’s new, Divine Destiny Center continues to expand its community outreach efforts, ensuring that our programs reach more women and young girls in need of support. We’re also offering new online courses and virtual workshops through KCM, LLC, making it easier for those who may not be able to attend in person to access the support and guidance they need.

What makes my work truly fulfilling is the opportunity to blend faith, empowerment, and personal development. I’ve learned that when people understand who they are and embrace their God-given purpose, they can overcome even the toughest challenges. My hope is to continue providing spaces where this transformation can happen, whether through the work at Divine Destiny Center and KCM.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back on my journey, the three qualities that have been most impactful are faith, resilience, and authenticity. These qualities have not only shaped my path but also equipped me to guide others in discovering their own purpose.

Faith: My faith in God has always been the foundation of everything I do. It has guided me through life’s uncertainties and given me the clarity to follow the path He set before me. Faith helped me through challenging seasons, like losing my mother at a young age and navigating the complexities of starting a family. It allowed me to trust in God’s plan, even when I couldn’t see the full picture. For those just starting out, I would encourage you to nurture your faith. Spend time in prayer, seek guidance through scripture, and surround yourself with people who can encourage you on your spiritual journey. Faith is a powerful anchor when the storms of life come.

Resilience: Life has thrown me many challenges, from the early loss of my mother to navigating major life transitions. Resilience has been the ability to keep moving forward, even when circumstances seemed overwhelming. It’s what helped me press on during times of loss, uncertainty, and the demands of leadership. To those beginning their journey, I’d say build resilience by embracing challenges as opportunities to grow. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes—every setback can be a stepping stone if you allow it to teach you. Resilience comes from the decision to rise again and keep moving forward.

Authenticity: One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of being true to who God created me to be. There was a time when I had to strip away the expectations of others and dig deep to find my true self. I had to ask, “Who is Kimberly underneath all of the experiences and traditions?” Discovering that person and embracing my unique identity became a turning point in my life. It gave me the confidence to lead others with sincerity and purpose. My advice to those starting out is to be honest with yourself about who you are. Spend time reflecting on your gifts, passions, and the desires God has placed within you. Don’t be afraid to walk your own path, even if it looks different from others. Authenticity is a key that unlocks the door to a fulfilling and purposeful life.

Advice for Those Starting Out: Develop your faith, cultivate resilience, and stay true to who you are. These qualities will sustain you through every challenge and help you stay anchored in your purpose. Embrace the process, even when it’s difficult, and trust that every step is part of God’s greater plan for your life.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, I’m always open to partnering and collaborating with like-minded individuals and organizations. I believe that when we come together with a shared vision, we can create a powerful impact that goes beyond what we could achieve alone. As a woman of faith, my work is guided by principles of integrity, purpose, and a desire to uplift others. I am particularly interested in collaborating with those who are passionate about empowering women and young girls, supporting spiritual growth, personal development, and creating spaces for healing and transformation.

I’m looking for partners who share a heart for making a difference in the community—whether through mentorship, outreach programs, education, or health and wellness initiatives. I am especially open to working with those who have experience or interest in supporting women in transitional stages of life, mentoring youth, and providing holistic support to underserved populations. If you are involved in nonprofit work, coaching, ministry, or leadership development, I’d love to explore opportunities to work together.

Divine Destiny Center’s outreach efforts include providing necessities to the unhoused community, supporting girls in the foster care system, and offering Care Connect baskets to women in shelters and rehabilitation centers and more. If these are areas you’re passionate about, we could do great things together. Whether it’s through events, workshops, or shared community initiatives, I believe in creating lasting partnerships that uplift and empower.

If this resonates with you and you’re interested in collaborating, please feel free to reach out. You can connect with me through my website, social media, or email. I’m excited about the possibility of joining forces with others to further this meaningful work and make a greater impact together.
