We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kimi Armelle Zambo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kimi Armelle , we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?
To me, self-care is a lifestyle, not just an occasional practice. I prioritize a monthly therapy session, which provides me with clarity, emotional support, and tools that help me navigate everyday challenges more effectively. I also enjoy getting massages—they soothe my muscles and leave me feeling renewed both physically and mentally.
My nighttime routine is sacred; it allows me to unwind, release daily stress, and ground myself through positive affirmations that prepare my mind and spirit for the day ahead. Travel is another essential form of self-care for me. Taking trips gives me space to disconnect from daily pressures, gain fresh perspectives, and return feeling balanced, focused, and energized.
As a result of these practices, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my focus and productivity, stronger emotional regulation, and increased resilience in both personal and professional settings.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
At Kimi’s Boutique, everything I do is inspired by a love for beauty, fashion, and helping people feel confident in their own skin. I created this brand to offer a carefully curated selection of high-quality, affordable accessories, skincare, and makeup—products I personally use and believe in.
What makes this journey so special is the connection I have with my customers. That’s why I’m beyond excited to be hosting a pop-up shop on July 13th at 300 Andover Park W in Tukwila. Meeting my community face-to-face is something I’ll never take for granted—it fuels my passion.
To keep serving you better, I’m constantly expanding my product line. I just returned from Miami, where I filmed a commercial—directed by the talented @Silkyblack2006—for the launch of my new collection, debuting June 27th. I’m also working toward adding clothing to the website by the end of next year.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey were resilience, adaptability, and a deep passion for the products I designed and now sell. These traits helped me stay committed through challenges and constantly improve my business. Skill-wise, problem-solving, time management, and customer service made a huge difference in how effectively I could operate and grow. For those just starting out, my biggest advice is to truly believe in yourself and the value of your products. Engage consistently with your audience on social media and participate in as many pop-up shops as possible to build visibility and connections. Lastly, surround yourself with like-minded business owners who can motivate and support you through the ups and downs.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m definitely open to partnering and collaborating with others! I’d love to connect with fellow business owners, even if they’re in different industries—whether you’re a photographer, social media manager, content creator, or a pop-up shop organizer. I’m especially interested in collaborations that help grow visibility, like participating in local pop-ups or partnering with shops that would be open to showcasing my products.
