We were lucky to catch up with King Brandon Smith recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi King Brandon, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
I taught myself how to love the difference in people . Being the only one in the room who can relate to certain things come with its disadvantages . Others may not understand , but it also gives me the opportunity to show why “different” is unique , and uniqueness is vital to creativity . When no one can relate to you , nor see your vision , i find only my job is to make sure i complete everything that’s supposed to be done and make sure to show up everyday . Turning my imagination into a reality is the reason i chose this path . There is no one to blame but yourself ; daily habits and routines that work towards your goals , dreams , and aspirations aren’t always easy , but practice leads to perfection . Others may not understand your vision , or what you see long term . As i get older , i realize it’s totally fine , it’s merely a creative indifference . No need for hard feelings nor love lost . I can’t expect people to see what I see or think how i do . They’re not destined to be me or to be you for that matter , they’ll never have the shoes that accompany each one of a kind journey . Therefore , you have to find your own Golden Ticket . I myself look from within , and do it for family , friends , and most importantly the people that have always rooted for me . Others may begin to realize the one of a kind journey that you are on and hopefully , it will all make sense to them in the end . Being a light and an inspiration to the right individuals who need it is a one of a kind thing , a blessing. Being aware of who to give your light to and who doesn’t deserve it is also another thing to understand.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
KingBrandon is currently 21 years old . Content Creator , Actor , Director , Film maker , Producer , Brother & Friend , Business man ~KingBrandon is well rounded , whole hearted , very outgoing , extremely humble , selfless , and committed . Not only to his career , but for those who are also around him . With the help of his team , KingBrandon will produce more content with his team of actors and models . As he continues to grow , he wants more . Not only for himself , but more for others within his community . He finds himself working all hours of the day and night , restless because he is a self improvement junky . KB loves to reach new levels and push himself to a higher standard which have no limits . Behind close doors KingBrandon has created an International unique brand and community . it’s called “KROWNBS$” (@krownbossofficial). The reason why KingBrandon created KROWNBS$ is to show the world that we can all wear a crown , any anyone can be Boss . No matter the outcome of their circumstances or what they’re going through , every individual has the ability to treat themselves into a higher caliber and standard . So why let a current situation knock you off your Crown ? We all know better days are only coming. Also , why let someone determine who you are as a person ? Who you truly are destined to be when you’re the creator of your own story and the chapters of your own unique life ? That’s what KROWNBS$ is about. Every model that was apart of the first campaign did an absolutely amazing job , and it’s only just the beginning for this brand ! If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The most important quality skills / area of knowledge looking back that were most impactful within my journey and still towards this day is Patience , Resilience , and Confidence . The reason for all three is because without patience you’re most likely to give up on yourself when you would not be able to adapt no matter the situation or circumstance you’re in that is in front of your face . Lastly confidence is the most important to me . The reason for this is because without confidence there is no belief that you can achieve anything you put your mind to . If you don’t have confidence within yourself how can you expect someone to have confidence for you ? All three of these are important to me because when i was officially starting my journey from being a content creator I had the whole world against me including my loved ones who were supposedly “family” who didn’t believe what I was capable of doing . However no love lost but I’m also grateful for that experience from my pre-teen years into my young adult life because that alone built my own confidence 10x more by not experiencing the support from my own loved one and felt like an outcast within my own inspirations and dreams that not even my own loved one have seen but myself. Therefore when people say their are they biggest cheerleader I totally understand them especially if they don’t have anyone to go to because they built their own confidence level that no one can’t pull down nor break away from them because it was self made , self love , and self thoughts between you and your abundant mindset.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
KingBrandon is always open to collaborate with Dope talented visuals . Including for his international brand KROWNBS$ . However as things attend to progress both parties need to figure out a way how we can work together as a team and also give value towards one another . Honesty , Longevity and Generosity is the three best things I look for into someone i plan on collaborating with or even doing business with because it’s healthy and a better feeling for both parties and lastly but importantly not a waste of time for one another .
