We caught up with the brilliant and insightful King Nwaozuru a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi King , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I attribute my strong work ethic to a combination of personal values and influential figures in my life.
Growing up, I witnessed my parents’ unwavering dedication to their work, instilling in me the importance of diligence and perseverance. My parent are immigrants from Nigeria & had to earn the life they live now
Their example taught me that hard work is not just a means to an end but a path to personal and professional fulfillment. Additionally, I’ve always been driven by a desire to achieve my goals and positively impact the world.
This intrinsic motivation fuels my work ethic, pushing me to strive for excellence in everything I do.
I’m also grateful for the mentors and teachers who have encouraged me to work hard and reach my full potential.
Their guidance and support have helped me develop a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
Ultimately, my work ethic reflects my commitment to myself and those around me.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Photography has always been my creative outlet, allowing me to express myself and capture the world around me in a unique way. I love the challenge of framing a perfect shot, experimenting with different techniques, and playing with light and shadow to create stunning images. The editing portion of photography constantly brings out the child in me.
The most exciting part about photography is incredible adventures and meeting fascinating people from all walks of life. In my current stage, I am exploring every niche to constantly challenge my creativity. I do not want to limit myself in the early stage of my career
I plan on continuously grow in Photography & videography. I know that having the best of both worlds will position myself of attaining endless amount of work opportunities. One day I plan on opening my own creative studio that will be affordable for all creatives in the Houston area.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
A keen eye for detail and composition, allowing me to capture the essence of a scene and create visually striking images.
A continuous drive for learning and experimentation, keeping me up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in photography.
A creative mindset, constantly seeking new perspectives and innovative approaches to photography.
The ability to adapt to different shooting environments and challenges, whether it’s a bustling city street or a remote natural landscape.
To get better at the three qualities above you must constantly practice. Doing shoots for free will always payoff in the long run.
I want to add a bonus skill that people don’t mention enough, which is collaboration. Collaboration will help your creativity tremendously
I will end this quote “If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together”

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My parents’ unwavering belief in me was the most significant influence on my life. Their actions spoke louder than words when they provided the funds for my first camera. This pivotal moment arrived during a challenging period, as I was both laid off and involved in a car accident within the same week. Lost and depressed, I realized it was time to embark on a new path and start my own business. The purchase of that camera ignited a passion within me, and I am eternally grateful for their support.
