Meet Kiranraj Siva Kumar

We recently connected with Kiranraj Siva Kumar and have shared our conversation below.

Kiranraj, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

I keep my creativity alive by constantly surrounding myself with inspiration—whether it’s design, architecture, art, or even random conversations with people from different backgrounds. I make it a point to explore things outside my field too—music, philosophy, or even memes sometimes spark new ideas.

I also believe creativity thrives on momentum, so I try to create something—big or small—every week. Even when I feel stuck, just showing up and experimenting without pressure helps me break through blocks. Staying curious, questioning things, and observing the everyday with fresh eyes keeps the spark going.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m a multidisciplinary designer with roots in architecture and a passion for creating bold, meaningful products. My work blends physical design, user behavior, and emerging tech to craft experiences that are not just functional—but thought-provoking.

Most recently, I developed Project Unlabeled—a wearable advertising backpack that reimagines how people interact with brands. It’s about shifting power back to individuals through ethical, interactive design.

Right now, I’m focused on building a collection of weekly product concepts and collaborating with brands that believe design should challenge the norm, not just decorate it.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I think what made the biggest impact on my journey was staying deeply curious—about people, systems, and the everyday things we often overlook. That curiosity pushed me to explore beyond architecture, dive into product design, and experiment with technology in unconventional ways.

Another turning point was learning to tell stories through design. I realized early on that good design isn’t just functional or beautiful—it carries meaning. Whether it’s a product, a space, or a wearable, I always try to embed a story that connects with people on a deeper level.

And finally, being resourceful has carried me through everything. I’ve often found myself figuring things out as I go—learning new tools, prototyping with what’s around me, and improvising when things don’t go to plan. That mindset helped me stay agile and keep moving forward, even when the path wasn’t clear.

For anyone starting out, I’d say: stay curious, experiment constantly, and don’t wait for perfect conditions. Share your work, learn out loud, and trust that progress often looks messy—but that’s where the real growth happens.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes, I’m always open to collaborating—especially with folks who are passionate about pushing boundaries through design. I’d love to connect with brands, creatives, technologists, or researchers who are exploring new ways to make products more meaningful, interactive, and human-centered.

Whether it’s a bold idea, a project in the works, or just a shared interest in design and innovation—I’m all ears. You can find me on LinkedIn, or just shoot me a message through my portfolio site ‘Kiranrajsivakumar.com’ . Let’s make something cool together.
