Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the Founder & Lead Brand Strategist at Holland Group Public Relations. I am proud to be a women-led public relations firm well versed in the business of building brands. Starting my PR firm was derived out of necessity; when despite my experience and media background, top-tier firms would not hire me. In lieu of being discouraged, I stepped out on faith and created my own opportunity while carving out a unique lane for myself in the communications industry.

Holland Group Public Relations is not your typical PR firm. My 22+ year entrepreneurial experience has afforded me the opportunity to share my knowledge to assist fellow via brands in sharing their unique stories and garnering media attention.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Resiliency, Optimism and Perseverance has been the most impactful parts of my professional journey. In the PR industry the “No’s” can certainly outweigh the “Yes'”. It took me some time to realize the ‘No’s: are not always a bad thing. Often times the “No’s” are simply making room for new opportunities.
