Meet Kiyanni Bryan

We were lucky to catch up with Kiyanni Bryan recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiyanni , thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
I believe imposter syndrome is something that will always try to come and rear its head when you cross over to the next level in your life. The key to overcoming imposter syndrome is to first identify that it’s present. Many times my thoughts of not being good enough, of feeling afraid to step up to the challenge, and struggling with perfectionism caused me to feel inadequate about new endeavors. Once I determined what imposter syndrome was I chose to no longer let it rob me of opportunities and intimidate me out of a position of purpose. To overcome imposter syndrome you have to 1) Acknowledge it, 2) Identify the roots of unworthiness, 3) I went to the Bible to find scripture references on those roots to pray through, 4) I made a choice to believe the truth which was the fact that I was at a new level because of my hard work and dedication, and then at the 5) I MOVED on it. I willfully engaged in the newness regardless of how scary it was and decided before the time that my disposition would be a posture of gratefulness for the new opportunity. Imposter syndrome plays on insecurities and tries to play on your worst fears by lying to you. The truth is you do have the experience, knowledge, education, and wisdom but had you NOT the opportunity wouldn’t be at your front door. Just breathe through the uncertainty and work it out.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
After 15-20 years in corporate America, I decided to create my consultancy that specializes in helping influencers and businesses with startup, branding, and organizational structure. After receiving my degree in Psychology and Counseling I decided to get certifications in life and business coaching and to become a mental health specialist. I provide one-on-one coach consulting in leadership development, life strategy, and business. This year I have now launched a VIP day as well as provide corporate packages of services for small businesses. Although I assist businesses in operations my one-on-one service for personal development has been extremely impactful and fruitful for those that have allowed me to serve them in that way. I have been a book publisher for going on 6 years and have created a space to personally develop authors into community leaders and professionals. Currently, the publishing company has created new services such as mentorship, scribes classes, and smaller publishing packages to help the beginning author. I am a multi-serial preneur who builds businesses as well as serves on multiple executive boards in my community to build business.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Forgiveness – Maturity – Resolve. These have been the most used and needed qualities of my existence as a person who builds in business. Relationships are extremely important in effective building, there will be collaborations, connections, and partnerships that you will create along your journey. It’s inevitable to hit a space of opposition, in those moments of disappointment and frustration it will be important to forgive quickly to not allow yourself to become bitter and bogged down with the circumstances that took place. In tune with that how you respond to unprecedented moments and unfavorable situations which is your maturity measurements, will determine your capacity for growth. Wisdom will let you know when to speak and how to choose your battles. You will need a resolve within you that carries determination and conviction that what you are building is needed and worth every obstacle that you will have to face. Remember what you build may be a benefit to you but it’s not for you, it’s to help someone else. Wear these qualities well.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal clients are those who are ready to START. These individuals know they carry greatness and have experienced something in their lives that has caused a traumatic impact. They don’t have to be convinced they carry something special because for the most part, they know but don’t know how to maximize it or pull it out to its full potential. They are ready to start again with a fresh perspective and need help with the beginning of the new journey. Ready to work!
