Meet Knives Monroe

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Knives Monroe. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Knives below.

Hi Knives, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Developing confidence and self-esteem comes from being uncomfortable and challenging yourself. I want to sleep in every night but, but confidence and self-esteem doesn’t build from that, not for me.
So I wake up at 4:30 every mourning to build that stack of evidence that I am what I say I am.
That builds confidence. It builds self-esteem. Creating momentum and building that stack of evidence higher and higher compounds your confidence.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m Knives Monroe. Everything else is a subtitle. Filmmaker, business owner, father, husband. Those are titles I’m very proud to wear, and together they make me who I am today.

I have been focusing on growing my business Indie Darlings which offers UNLIMITED VIDEO EDITING for a subscription service. The deal is a steal for entrepreneurs such as real estate agents who have a ton of content in their pipeline, or business in e-commerce who need to deploy dozens of assets in the wild across their channels.
If you’re a marketing agency, you and your clients need content pumped out ad nausea, and my subscription service can take care of that quickly and consistently.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The 3 qualities that have been the most impactful on my journey have been the following:

Know yourself.
Trust yourself.
Be Yourself.

Knowing, requires self awareness.
Trust, requires certainty in yourself.
And being, requires action.

When I fall off the path, 1 of those 3 qualities are not being met, so I recommend to others to know, trust, and be yourself.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
2023 has been the year of clarity at least for me. Tons of nagging physical and mental issues that I neglected all rose to the surface and demanded my attention.

Problems such as my physical health and wellbeing, and my confidence and self esteem. Years of neglect compounded and 2023 was the year I had the time to work on myself.

A wise man once said ‘redesign, rebuild, reclaim’. That thats what I continually strive for. To consistently break through.
