Meet Kobi Nolan

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kobi Nolan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Kobi with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

Ever since I was a kid my parents taught my brothers and I to work hard for what we want whether its showing up early and leaving late, getting extra reps at soccer practice, or simply putting all you have into everything you do. Sometime in high school I started to realize how important this was if I wanted to reach the goals that started to flood my brain. Ever since then I have strived to make every second count towards my future self by aiming for high efficiency and output with all of my projects. As an artist, I feel this is especially necessary because you never really clock out of the job. I put in consistent 12-14 hour days of painting, drawing, bookkeeping, etc. and when I’m not actively creating art I am trying to think about the next project. It’s fun work, but I don’t think people realize how much goes into being a full time artist.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a multidisciplinary artist based in Kansas City, working across murals, music, logo design, and more. I thrive on exploring different mediums—it keeps the creative process exciting and allows me to bring fresh energy to every project. You can check out the full range of my work and pick up some new merch on my website!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

As an entrepreneur, it’s essential to stay organized—track everything you do. Create a spreadsheet for each project’s details and another for expenses and revenue. When it comes to organization, more is better. Prioritize the projects that excite you; they’re usually the most fulfilling and often lead to more of the projects you truly want. And lastly remember: no one will care about your work more than you do. So find ways to genuinely love what you create—and market it in a way that makes others care too.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I’m always open to collaboration! Whether you’re working on a mural, music, or any other creative project and need another artist on board, feel free to reach out—I’d love to hear about it!
