Meet Koereyelle Mallard

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Koereyelle Mallard a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Koereyelle, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
I don’t know that imposter syndrome is something you overcome as much as it is something you work through. We ALL deal with it, regardless of how long your resume is or how much you’ve previously accomplished. The best way that I’ve found to get through it is to go back through the things I’ve overcome, the times I succeeded even when I didn’t feel ‘ready’ and remember WHO I AM and WHOSE I AM. I know that God always sees greater in me than I can currently see in myself, I find faith in that and move forward.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m the Owner of Ellevate Media where I host 3 podcasts and produce several others. I am passionate about spreading positive messages and sharing valuable resources for black women, so my brand is built with that mission in mind. Ellevate Media not only offers full-service production, we also have a podcast studio available for rent in Atlanta! PLUS, our podcast netwerk Grown Woman TV is the first network with a ROKU app! We are committed to creating content that moves the black community forward.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
If I could pinpoint 3 skills or qualities that have been most impactful on my journey, they would be: 1- Having a BIG Vision
2- Leaning into my Creativity
3- Maintaining a positive reputation

If you’re looking to develop in these areas, I would encourage you to tap into a higher power or source so that you can really dig deep into what YOU are meant to do and who you are meant to impact. I believe we are all called to serve in some way, you have to get clear on that calling. Once you have that clarity, you’ll start to get lost in creative ideas! And it’s easy to maintain a positive reputation by doing right by people, underpromising and overdelivering!
