Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kohle Heimlich. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Kohle, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my Father.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I own a company called American Heritage Performance. We are a LS and LT engine specialty engine shop along with a Corvette Performance and Racing shop. We have several world records for the worlds fastest Corvettes along with our LS and LT engines in many of the worlds fastest vehicles.
I am self made. Stated in a 2 car home garage working off of Jack stands. 18-20 hour work days, 7 days a week, 365 days a year is what it took to get to where I am today. Hard work and dedication to your craft are key point in success. It also helps big time to hire and surround yourself with the correct people.
Our #1 specialty and claim to fame is our work on the C6z06 Corvette and in particular the LS7 Engine. The C6z06 Corvette and LS7 engine suffer from some factory faults that we have fix and perfected so C6z06 Corvette and LS7 engine owners can enjoy their cars and engines without worrying about the issues that plagued these cars and engines directly from the factory.
We also build a lot of LS engines for Formula Drift P1 Professional Drift Racing cars as well as GT2 and GT1 engines for Professional race series cars.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Specialize, Specialize, Specialize!!! Pick a aspect of your industry and get better at it than anyone else in your industry. That is a huge key to success. There is to much out there to just be a general expert. You need to really dial in your craft, learn everything there is about one or two specific areas of your craft and become the industry expert in your field. Specialization is one of the key factors to my success and the success of AHP.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
Our professional P1 series Formula Drift engine building program has really taken off the last 12 months. This has been the biggest growth of our company as of late. We are supplying a lot of our 1,000+HP engines to many P1 Formula Drift race cars
