Meet Kotta

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kotta a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kotta, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

I’m not entirely sure. I don’t always try to separate the negative from the positive, It seems that they are both a part of creation. I believe there is something we all care about more than what is easily separated into optimism or negativity.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I have a single coming out next month called “Bless Bless Bless You”. I’m very excited about the drum parts we are about to record. Wesley Hall is coming in to lay something down. I have been a huge fan of Wesley’s drumming for a while now, and just having the opportunity to have a song with him blows my mind.

I’m most looking forward to finishing the album that this single is going to be attached to, and playing live shows. I would be incredible if I could get Wesley to tour with me one day.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Ooooh, this is a very tough question for me, especially the advice part.

For the three qualities, that are constantly pressing again me are, asking, listening, and wondering.
Everything I live and work on seems to be a cycle of these three things. When nothing coming from one of them, the others take over.

But knowing how different everyones journey and true needs are, I don’t feel like I could give advice. Sometimes I’m fortunate in that I can be helpful to someone, but It would have to be direct to their needs, not something I could blankety lay out there in the ethos.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I’m hoping to do more collaborations with producers and other musicians. I would love to have a more traditional band to tour with one day,

If I’m fortunate enough have anyone interested in chasing these dream with me they would be able to connect with me on instagram@kottamusic
