India’s is the Oldest and most Critically acclaimed Indian restaurant in Denver! We started India’s in 1989, as we felt that Denver needed an authentic Fine Dining Indian restaurant. We have been very fortunate to have cultivated an exceptionally loyal customer base that has stood by us in real trying times that were thrust upon us due to the Pandemic.
We are proud to be catering to the third Generation of our loyal Patrons, vividly recall the Grandparents, Parents and the little toddlers celebrating Birthdays and Anniversaries and now we see the toddlers of the toddlers!
We have grown along with the Families and the City of Denver. We started as a 60 seat restaurant and over the years have grown to a 250 seat restaurant with well spaced tables and a Free standing building of our own.
We have tried to provide a very authentic Indian environment at the restaurant, the Denver Post described it very appropriately when they headlined their review” India’s service, ambience dazzle senses”.

We have been listed in the Top Ethnic restaurants in the US, by Bon Appetit, Zagat survey rated us “Extraordinary”, The Gabby Gourmet restaurant Guide rated India’s ” To Die For” and we have won Top ratings with Westword, Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News!
During our trek through the 35 Years on the Denver dining scene we have catered to various celebrities including Governors, Mayors, Senators, Representatives, Broncos coaches and players, Nuggets players, Avalanche players and an Olympic skater! A Hollywood Star and various visiting Bands at Red Rocks and Fiddlers Green!
It has been our philosophy to use only the highest quality ingredients in all our preparations and offer them at a fair price.
It has been a thrilling and fun journey, and we are indebted to all our Patrons for their support over the three and a half decades.
We Cater Corporate Events and Weddings/Receptions- Indian weddings normally have 250 to 400 guests !

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The most important quality,in this business, is patience and perseverance. Customers can and will be demanding, you have to understand their point of view and then respond in a caring manner. The restaurant business requires a lot of hard work, under trying conditions. One has to put in long hours even after you have achieved success, you cannot neglect it and take it easy at any stage.
Man management skills are definitely required in this business. This business is a labor intensive business, you have to be able to hire people for their skills and their willingness to work with their co-workers in an efficient and accommodating manner.
The importance of knowledge cannot be over emphasized. One has to familiarize themselves with all the rules and regulations applicable to the business- easier said than done!
The restaurant owner has to be adept at financial planning and always work with sufficient reserve to tide over tough times.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

My parents taught me the value of hard work, handling yourself calmly, in the face of adversity and always living within your means-avoid owing money to anyone, if you want to sleep peacefully and maintain your relationships!
