Meet Kristen Hatfield and Jillian Griffin

We recently connected with Kristen Hatfield and Jillian Griffin and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Kristen and Jillian with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

Our work ethic comes from a mix of influences. We were lucky to have parents who showed us the value of hard work and responsibility early on. Our education gave us great opportunities to grow. Additionally, our previous jobs taught us a lot about staying dedicated and committed. We’ve also been inspired by friends and colleagues who work hard and stay motivated, which pushes us to do the same. Together, we’re driven and focused.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

SNAPup! is a online marketplace that focuses on the resale of current + quality furnishings. We launched SNAPup! after realizing that there was a gap in the market for people who wanted a seamless, stress-free way to sell their high-quality furniture. We created a solution that allows people to sell their items without price negotiations or the inconvenience of taking them to a consignment store. The sales cycle is short, usually 7-10 days. Our brand is about making that process fun, easy, and rewarding for everyone involved.

What makes SNAPup! stand out is the focus on community and the relationships we’ve built. Growing up and living in Newport Beach, we have been able to connect with people who value beautiful spaces but also appreciate the sustainability and cost-effectiveness of resale. This combination of design, efficiency, and sustainability is at the heart of what we do.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three qualities that were most impactful in our journey were adaptability, relationship-building, and consistency. Each of these has played a key role in shaping SNAPup! and how we operate today.

Adaptability: Whether it’s navigating time-sensitive projects or working with various types of clients being flexible has been crucial. For those starting out, our advice is to stay open to change. Business plans and strategies will evolve, so embrace the process and be willing to pivot when needed.

Relationship-building: Connecting with people and building trust has been the foundation of SNAPup!. Whether it’s with clients, partners, or the broader community, strong relationships create a support network and open up opportunities.

Consistency: We are dedicated to our brand’s commitment to quality products and a positive + seamless customer experience. At SNAPup!, our goal is always to provide the highest quality furnishings with exceptional client experience.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

In the past 12 months, our biggest area of growth has been refining the operational processes for SNAPup!. As the business has grown, we’ve concentrated on streamlining various aspects, including our marketing strategies, technology, pricing models, and the terms and conditions for both buyers and sellers, enhancing the overall experience. This growth has not only made the business run smoother but has also allowed us to focus more on the creative and client-focused aspects that we love.
