Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kristie Nunez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Kristie with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
Growing up, my parents always emphasized the importance of hard work. This instilled in me, the value of putting in effort, whether it was in school or at home, which has shaped my approach to work. I believe that dedication and perseverance are crucial for success.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am the owner of Precision Sculpt Pilates. My business has been opened for 3 years and is located in Staten island, NY; just recently opened my second location in Old Bridge, NJ. I have been in the Pilates world for about 5 years, I love teaching and getting to know my clients. When I started my business, my goal was for others to not only find a good studio for women to work out in, but a safe and fun environment for women to come together and form friendships.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
One big skill that I feel was needed in my journey was being a Pilates instructor. As a business owner, its important to know your craft, how its taught and the in’s and out’s of being an instructor. Secondly, being the general manager at a previous Pilates studio prepared me for the obstacles that can come a long in this business. Perseverance is another important quality to have when owning a business. I refused to take no for an answer in the challenges I came across and I’m so happy I did! My biggest advice is to get out and do what you love. You can’t be scared to put yourself out there. You can’t be scared to try. One day you’ll look back and wish you did it!
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client would be someone who is looking to change their lifestyle. If you want the best results in the fitness industry, you have to be ready to change your lifestyle. Trying to find a “quick fix” often leads us to disappointment.
