Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Kristin with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic comes from balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship—I’ve learned resilience, time management, and persistence from raising two kids and building my photography business. At the heart of it, I just love what I do, and that passion drives me to always give my best.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a wedding photographer, and what excites me most is being able to capture moments that people will treasure for a lifetime. Weddings are such an emotional, once-in-a-lifetime event, and I feel so honored to create timeless images that couples and families can relive forever. My approach is equal parts storytelling and artistry—I want the photos to feel natural, joyful, and true to who my couples are.
What makes my brand special is the experience I provide: I guide my couples through the process with warmth, calm, and a sense of fun, so the photography never feels like a chore. As a mom of two, I know how quickly life moves, and that perspective fuels my passion for preserving fleeting, meaningful moments.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to expand into more destination weddings, which let me combine my love of travel with documenting love stories in beautiful places. Every season brings new opportunities to grow and connect with couples, and I can’t wait to see where this journey continues to take me.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
For me, the three most impactful qualities have been resilience, adaptability, and connection. Resilience helped me push through the challenges of starting a business while raising two kids. Adaptability has been key—weddings are unpredictable, and being able to adjust with calm and creativity makes all the difference. And connection is everything: building trust with couples, vendors, and my community is what allows my work to really shine.
My advice for anyone starting out is to practice patience and persistence. Don’t be afraid of mistakes—they’re where you’ll learn the most. Stay open to feedback and growth, and never lose sight of the relationships at the heart of your work. The technical skills will come, but it’s your resilience, adaptability, and ability to connect that will carry you through.
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal clients are couples who value authenticity and connection. They’re not just looking for pretty photos—they want their story told in a way that feels real and meaningful to them. They’re laid-back, adventurous, and trust me to guide the process so they can focus on being present with each other. What makes them ideal is their openness—they let me in, which allows me to capture the genuine moments, emotions, and little details that make their day truly theirs.
