Meet Kristin Marie Navarro

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kristin Marie Navarro a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristin Marie, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
For me, the moment I found my purpose, happened when I stepped foot in Africa., Being surrounded by “the wild” or what’s left of it, and witnessing firsthand what the reality and state that our eco system is in, gave me my purpose. That’s when I knew I had to help reconnect humans to animals, so they fell in love, and would do their part in conservation. That is not only my purpose, but it is my heart, my soul, and my passion.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I run a Conservation Ranch in North Texas, that offers our patrons the opportunity to reconnect with wildlife through an educational program that we have developed that is interactive. Most importantly, our program builds a bond between humans and animals, in hopes, that it will spark an interest for them to help with conservation, not by throwing money at the issue, but to actually participate and get involved with conservation programs around the world. We are building a program, where we take people with us to Countries around the world, to volunteer at programs and facilities, that we have vetted, that are safe to visit and are legitimately and actively working to help wildlife and the eco system.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My faith, integrity and my work ethic were definitely the three factors that were the most impactful in my journey. I would not be where I’m at in life if I didn’t believe that God had a hand in it. He opened doors that I didn’t even think of or considered and made all things possible. The other two were instilled onto me by my upbringing and my prior career. My father always raised me to be honorable and taught me to work hard. As a prior Law Enforcement Officer, working to serve and protect the community, your integrity is key in the testimony and oath you take in front of a judge and God. My only advice is to be humble and trust in God, he will not lead you astray.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
The biggest growth I have had in the past 12 months is in my education as a conservationist. I have been blessed enough to travel overseas and study conservation programs from elephant conservation to cheetah conservation to sloth conservation in both Costa Rica and Africa. This knowledge has served me in my wildlife ambassador program in Texas and allowed me to teach others what is happening in the wild.
