Meet Kristina Bozanich

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kristina Bozanich a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Kristina, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

In my work as a creative director and photographer in the worlds of art, glam, and fashion, I’ve come to realize that confidence is one of the most powerful tools you have. It’s something you cultivate over time. Part of my signature style is wearing bold hats, and they’ve become a fun way to express my brand.

I’ll never forget a moment at a business event where a woman followed me into the restroom just to tell me, “I wish I had the confidence to wear a hat like that.” I smiled and told her, “Girl, in the pandemic, I dyed my hair fire red and that was permanent. I learned no matter what you choose, you gotta just OWN IT”.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I recently made a big move to Reno, Nevada, which has expanded my team and my business from coast to coast. While I’m still managing clients in Orlando, I’m now focused on establishing my brand and growing my roots here in my hometown. It’s an exciting new chapter!

Right now, a lot of my energy is dedicated to connecting with the local community. I’m submitting my art to galleries, networking with other professionals, speaking at workshops, and launching my education series, “Creator’s Conference Monthly Minis.” It’s an intimate, year-long program where we bring in different experts each month to talk about a specific topic. The opportunity to share knowledge from many experts and build a creative community right here in Reno is what I find most special and exciting.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful for me were commitment, consistency, and resilience. My advice for anyone starting their own journey is to stay devoted to your craft, even when it feels like everything is working against you.

Life will bring burnout, setbacks, and busy seasons, but you have to keep going if this is truly your passion. I’ve been in business for a decade now, and it’s that commitment to my art and my goals that has made the journey so worthwhile.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

The same thing that I am doing now – being there for my family, passionately creating, and ultimately, living every day to the fullest.
