Meet Kristina Menissov

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kristina Menissov. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kristina below.

Kristina, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Hello Bold Journey! Thank you so much for having me on your inspiring platform!

I did get my resilience when I had my son. I simply have no choice but to provide for and my son! It is amazing how much we can accomplish when not presented with freedom to slack and lay in bed giving into our intrusive thoughts. When on lower vibrations I believe it is actually helpful for people to not be presented with too many choices of what to do, so instead of overthinking I was putting my energy into doing something ASAP and it started working, and now I taught myself how to recharge if I feel too tired and ready to give up a project and come back with even higher percentage of wearability and resilience.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am Kristina Menissov a Model and a singer.

With my example I show to women who are like me, Immigrants, Single Mothers, Mixed Ethnicities with not being able to rely on any of the sides of their identity, doubting yourself – I show with my example that if I can make it happen it means they can do it too and we all can find ourselves in the process. I started my career in Los Angeles in 2017 with a newborn on my hands and went from Single Mother to the cover of VOGUE MAGAZINE. I was not fitting any criteria, now I make Ethnically Ambiguous a Trend. Now I have been on the cover of numerous fashion magazines since then such as, Harper’s BAZAAR, ELLE Arabia, Glamourr, Forbes, USA and France and Marie Claire Serbia had me on a cover of their last cover of the year. I have appeared on the pages of magazines such as TATLER, VOGUE and Vanity Fair Britain and many more. During my career I worked with Fashion Houses such as CARTIER, CHOPARD, BALMAIN, SAINT LAURENT, ROBERTO CAVALLI and other international fashion houses at NYFW and local brands at Los Angeles Fashion Week and Miami Swim Week. This year I got to do something very new for me in April I launched a a CAPSULE collection with NYC based fashion brand MARCELLA. That was a very unique experience for me that I enjoyed a lot. While doing all that in the fashion world I am working on my singing career and right after Christmas I am releasing 2 singles POTION and CROWN that I am very excited about. I will release it during a performance at the music industry conference iPOP at the Anaheim Convention Center December 29. I was blessed to work on this singles with the world famous music producer Andrew Lane who is known for working with icons like BACKSTREET BOYS and IRENE CARA. Follow me on SPOTIFY to not miss the releases.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back I think three qualities that helped me to achieve everything I have now are Loyalty, Second World Country Immigrant Survival Instinct/Critical Thinking that makes me standout in the crowd and Discipline. I would say the best way to develop these or any other skills would start with the honesty with yourselves on which level that quality is established in you and than decide if you want to improve it or not, if yes – set a clear goal and start doing something to achieve it. I have personally went through all those steps and have so much to offer too aspiring models. That’s why I am launching a coarse called “MODELING EXPLAINED”. It’s designed to teach everything they need to know to kickstart their careers like a pro and feel confident and successful in this field. I will be announcing a launch date very soon.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
I think I will stay with what I said before: is that the one person who helped me overcome any challenge in my life is my son. Every challenge could be solved if you set your mind to it. When I would give up on some goals because of the occurring challenges I would let myself be sad, but what helped me as I said before is not having a wiggle room to be sad for a long time. I mean you are not gonna say to your child we are not gonna eat I’m depressed or I don’t feel like going for a walk. I used to say to myself “being sad is not an excuse for not being productive” and that I believe was most helpful tool to overcome challenges. As a bonus I gained so much knowledge while overcoming those exact challenges and that knowledge is helping me now to grow even faster.
