We were lucky to catch up with Krystal Ward recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Krystal, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I grew up in a strict household with my dad and stepmom. I had to hide my emotions, get excellent grades, and do chores for what felt like the entire weekend. College was finally a time for freedom, so for years even beyond school, I partook in recreational activities that I had to stop when I became accidentally pregnant. I’d been severely codependent on substances, alcohol, friends, and boyfriends. I made a vow to my child that I’d raise her (and myself) to be healthy. My life became unrecognizable to me as I dove headfirst into wellness podcasts. Because of the success I experienced by turning my life around, I got certified as a health and life transformation coach.
I usually find that resilience is the only necessary mindset when faced with difficult times, even when it takes a while to finally face the forward-moving action. For example, my daughter’s father and I tried to stay together for 4 years, but we were living in a relationship without intimacy and with a lot of struggle. We never had planned to have a child, and I never had the desire to be a mother. I didn’t think I was mature or patient enough, but I was able to turn motherhood into something I could learn to love, appreciate, and enjoy. Knowing deep down for a long time that we wouldn’t last, her father and I broke up when she was 3. My hesitation in leaving the relationship came from not wanting to hand my own child the same struggles I faced as a kid, however, I understood that if her father and I stayed in that relationship she’d have her own set of unique struggles anyways. Struggle is a part of life, so she wouldn’t have been immune regardless.
Another area in my life resilience has been key is in business. I have a coaching business and a candle making business, both of which are very different yet come with similar struggles. I wouldn’t say I have “business success” at this point in my journey, but my resilience comes from the idea that if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. Every day I wake up excited to implement whatever it is I’m learning. Resilience keeps me excited and showing up consistently for myself any my business, even through the growing pains. Resilience to me looks like the “last man standing” mentality, and the only person who can knock me down in business is my own mind.
I carry with me the deep knowing that “everything is unfolding FOR me” even when life seems like it’s being turned upside down at every turn. Resilience has taught me that hardships are lessons and I always come out stronger and more knowledgeable. I also love to share my resilience with my clients and help them develop self-trust and trust that their life is always unfolding for them, even when it feels like a struggle.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
What contributed to my growth was learning how to expand my potential mentally and physically, so I incorporate both health and mindset concepts into everything I do and what I teach. My brand is focused on natural living, having more energy, and obtaining success in relationships, health, and business.
I offer two types of coaching: helping moms double their energy, and helping people create success easier. My health program is geared towards improving digestion and balancing blood sugar, helping moms double their energy and lose weight if they wish. Instead of focusing mainly on what goes into their body, we focus on who they are being when it comes to mealtime. We also look at external factors that could be draining their energy, such as their calendar or closet. Together we develop an energy blueprint to help them understand their unique body better and create harmony between their lifestyle and healthy habits.
For success, I help people consciously create their desires, which ironically involves tools such as subconscious reprogramming. We look at their current beliefs and thought patterns, and restructure how they see themselves and how they view the possibility of their success. I also teach manifestation techniques to help them attract people and opportunities that will catapult them to their desires faster and easier. I have the most fun helping people with relationships and business.
I’m a big fan of natural living, which is evident in both my health coaching and the candles I make. In addition to 1:1 personal coaching, I make crystal candles. I use all-natural beeswax and wooden wicks because beeswax is a natural air purifier. While I love the smell and ambiance of an all-natural candle, I also offer clean scents, because who doesn’t want to cozy up with a marshmallow gingerbread candle while it’s snowing outside in December? Each candle is hand-decorated with crystals, and I love offering people the option to have a personalized label for their loved one’s special occasions.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My most impactful qualities are determination and resilience. When I create a goal or vision, it might take me a while to figure out how to get there, but my determination never ceases. Sometimes this has to come with delusional belief in myself and a thick skin against naysayers. I’m also able to plow through what some would call “failure” (i.e. a 0 sale launch) but I’m able to quickly refocus on what I learned and how to use those lessons to move forward.
The area of knowledge that’s helped me most in my life is the Law of Attraction and how to rewire my thinking. I was always a glass half empty girl, but everything changed when I realized the power of my mind. To my amazement, I started attracting things I wanted with unbelievable speed. I’m usually able to manifest what I want or better very quickly, sometimes within minutes. A lot of my friends have joked that I do “black magic” because they’re in awe at how things always happen for me.
Advice I have for someone early in their journey is always follow your heart! I’ve spent thousands of dollars investing in people who tell me that their way is the only way, leaving me feeling unaligned and having wasted a lot of money. Part of determination is trusting yourself! Invest to learn and grow, but not from a place of giving your power away and/or doing things that feel awful. For me, that looked like cold messaging 50 people a day at the orders of my coach. I messaged 3 people, and never did it again! When you’re determined, you’re also determined to find the best, most aligned ways of moving forward for YOU, and are OK saying no to things that don’t work for you, even if they’ve worked for someone else. Life and business are trial and error. Invest, learn, grow, re-calibrate, and just keep going.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Two books have significantly impacted my life: The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, and How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.
The Secret helped me change how I perceive what happens in my life, therefore changing my automatic thinking. It taught me the value of our thoughts and how our thoughts form beliefs, which manifest into our life as experiences. I now dedicate most of what I do as a coach to helping people rewire their own minds for success and abundance.
How to Win Friends and Influence People isn’t as arrogant as it sounds- it’s actually about putting others first, even when you “want” something. For example, if you’re at a job interview, notice what’s on the interviewer’s desk. If there’s a photo of his/her family, state a positive observation about the photo, such as “is that your family? They’re beautiful,” leading into a question about the person’s life. You want the job, but a great way to build rapport and likeability with someone is by placing attention on them, not just on you. People love to be noticed, appreciated, and… called by their name. Whenever I have a restaurant server, I like to thank them personally by using their name. Saying someone’s name to them is a token of generosity and is always felt with gratitude and love.
