Meet Krystal Williams

We were lucky to catch up with Krystal Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.

Krystal, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I would say my resilience comes from not always getting my way in life. I was someone who has always had to work for everything I have. Nothing was ever given or just handed to me. I had to use my knowledge, skills and talents to get me where I am today. Knowing that I have been able to get myself this far is life keeps me appreciative and humble.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the owner of a full body waxing spa located in Midtown-Houston TX. I created my business out of pure love and passion for making people feel beautiful in their skin. I wanted to provide the community a waxing establishment that provided not only a service, but an experience. We also, offer body peel treatments and premium teeth whitening. My brand is truly special because, I spent years perfecting the waxing technique that we use on our clientele that is methodical, quick, and comfortable. We truly care for our clients and their skin and I believe that shows in every moment and interaction with my company, staff and service.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say that determination, drive, and creativity would have been the 3 most impactful qualities that helped to get me where I am today. My best advice to new entrepreneurs in the industry is to stay true to who you are. It’s who you are that will bring you clientele and what’s make them want to continue with you. No one else has your creativity, its unique to you.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed I think it’s most important to take time to pour back into you. We only become overwhelmed when we’ve lost that touch and are over-pouring from our cup to feed into someone or something else. A good way to recharge yourself is to do things that don’t involve anyone that you enjoy doing.
