Meet Krystina Sibley

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Krystina Sibley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Krystina below.

Hi Krystina, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from a deep internal well of determination and inspiration, as well as staying open to infinite possibilities. When life presents me with challenges and I have to pivot, I’ve learned that it is essential to make time for reflection and rest, and to tap into what my higher self and the next chapter of life holds. Instead of stressing out about what is or what I think things should be, letting myself process challenges by journaling, meditating, and being in nature does far more good.

Creativity is one of my main allies for resilience. I am grateful for creativity, as it helps me see things from a broader perspective. I have been a creative since a young age, and my parents nurtured that in me, and it’s shown up for me in the most challenging times of my life as an adult too – giving me a ray of sunshine, an endless stream of ideas, and the mojo to move forward.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a multidisciplinary creative who explores the intersection of art, science, nature, and consciousness. In my collages and assemblages, you’ll find treasures from my worldwide travels, nature hikes, upcycled elements, and meditation background. Some of my artworks can be hung in any direction, and I love having people find unique insights at different angles.

I have lived all around the world, from my home base in San Antonio, Texas, to college in Richmond, VA, and San Francisco, CA, time abroad in England, a few decades in Tampa Bay, FL, and getting back in touch with my roots in Texas currently. My art reflects this colorful, diverse background and one of my paintings – “Let’s Be Beautiful Together” – is a testament to one of my core beliefs that humans are better when we can come together as a community and share our unique talents and gifts for the greater whole.

It is my honor to bring art into the world to magnify joy, wonder, and diversity. Beyond creating art and showing at events and shows, I also teach art lessons and workshops where individuals, groups, or retreat participants can create a meaningful work of art. Whether someone is a beginner or already well-versed in making art, or for groups that want a unique experience, I enjoy helping people learn new techniques and giving them the opportunity to feel free to express themselves on a canvas.

This dovetails nicely with my background as a certified Meditation Teacher and Therapeutic Art Life Coach, as these practices also enhance creativity, whether it’s designing a life you love or rejuvenating your mind, body, and spirit in deeper ways. Individuals and companies also call on me for custom collages, art, and workshops. I love collaborating on these one–of–a–kind pieces and seeing how much joy and resonance they create. People also find a lot of joy in my unique art merch as I have a fresh take on how art can intersect with everyday objects, and elevate these things with fun images and ideas to ponder.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The most impactful qualities that have helped my journey as a creative are fearlessness, perseverance, and passion. To cultivate these qualities early on, it’s essential to stay focused on the outcome you want to achieve. You are the sole person who has your vision, and when you can connect to things that make you passionate and help your soul glow, you can return to this inner well of creativity with more ease.

Perseverance requires a delicate balance of dedicating yourself to the intentions you set forth, maintaining visibility of them, and then building in space for rest and rejuvenation, as continually pushing yourself can lead to burnout. Fearlessness encompasses going past your comfort zone and knowing that your personal and professional growth can go much farther when you let your inner critic or societal constructs not weigh you down. Being open to meeting people, pursuing big ideas and opportunities, and cultivating confidence in yourself and your ideas will help you establish a foundation to live the life you want and see your dreams manifest in a profound way.

You might not get all the opportunities or achieve all the things you want due to external forces at times, but when you look back and reflect, you will be satisfied as you will know you did everything in your power to bring your vision to life.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

My parents, Deborah and Wayne Sibley, have done so many impactful things for me. They encouraged me to go big and be bold as a youngster, and supported me when I wanted the head of the FBI to come speak at my middle school – I loved everything about solving mysteries at the time – and he actually came from me writing him a letter and I had to find a way to be confident and speak on the stage to introduce him in front of the entire school.

They rooted for me as I lived and traveled around the world as a college student and adult, always inspiring me to live the life I envisioned. During tough times and challenges, they provided me with guidance, love, and peace to help rejuvenate myself in deep ways. I am forever grateful and pay this forward by serving as this example and beacon to others.
