Meet Kuhr Lee

We recently connected with Kuhr Lee and have shared our conversation below.

Kuhr , thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
I accomplish this by continuing to make new ideas. Whether it’s by writing new songs or filming for content. Every idea is at the very least practice.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a musician by the name of Kuhr. My style of music is best described as Electronic Lofi Soul. I write mix and master most of my songs myself while also collaborating with other artists around Nashville. I play local shows around there too. I’m currently working on new instrumental music projects to get my foot in the door of the video game industry..

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Practicing, patience, and taking criticism. Practicing is the only sure way of remembering skills and applying them. I could watch all the videos in the world on how to play guitar but if I’m not actively applying what I learn then I will never develop that skill of playing guitar. Learning patience helps me focus on what I have accomplished and therefore keeps me motivated to achieve my goals. Taking criticism is by far the most important skill to learn. Being able to learn what others think and say about your art is how you will grow.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
I go for a walk outside when I can. It helps stimulate my brain with all the randomness of nature.
