Meet Kye Gutierrez

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kye Gutierrez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kye, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I developed my confidence by embracing the things I was afraid to do and pushing through to the other side. From the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey, I was eager to get those awkward first years out of the way. I fully accepted that I might look like a fool to my peers, both online and offline, and dove in headfirst. I saw my initial embarrassment and stumbling through failures as an investment in my future. By facing my fears and learning from my mistakes, I’ve built a strong foundation of confidence in my abilities and firmly believe in the future success of my business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I run a nature-based yoga business dedicated to helping people feel refreshed, renewed, and re-inspired through the combination of yoga, retreats, and nature. In the first five years, I organized public events that brought people out into beautiful natural locations to practice yoga and connect with each other and the environment. Now, I’ve shifted my focus to more intimate and immersive experiences. I lead women on retreats into wild, stunning landscapes where they can practice yoga surrounded by the beauty of nature. These retreats, held multiple times a year in diverse and picturesque locations, offer a unique and transformative experience. Women have the chance to deeply connect with themselves, nature, and each other, creating lasting memories and rejuvenating their spirits.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

ooking back, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are a willingness to look stupid in the beginning, effective marketing skills, and having a supportive network of people around me. Embracing the fear of looking foolish allowed me to take risks and learn from my mistakes early on. Understanding marketing is crucial because knowing how to sell what you offer is key to success in any business. Lastly, surrounding myself with people I look up to and can seek advice from has been invaluable. For those early in their journey, I advise embracing vulnerability, investing time in learning how to market effectively, and building a network of supportive and inspiring individuals who can guide and motivate you.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

I have made a rule for myself that I never make important decisions or push forward in work unless I feel my very best. Therefore when I am overwhelmed I give myself space to feel it. I am going for big things in life and business, so I remind myself that I absolutely should feel overwhelmed sometimes. That just means I’m doing things that are pushing me forward and that matter. I am an ambitious and hopeful person, I know that after a day of rest and space I will bounce back! My partner is also insanely supportive and is always there to help remind me to not take myself too seriously.
