Meet Kyle Bethel

We recently connected with Kyle Bethel and have shared our conversation below.

Kyle, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I believe I got my resilience from becoming a type 2 diabetic after getting covid. I was a week away from going into a coma when I was diagnosed. If I went into that coma it would have been harder to save me. After which I was on Insulin for about a month, month and a half. The Resilience has translated into my music. Since gaining resilience I gained the confidence my music can reach others and inspire them to be resilient.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am Kyle Bethel a music artist from Brooklyn, New York. Primarily I make rap music. I feel what is most special about my music is the realtability of it. It’s the reason why my real name is my stage name. I am not a tough guy. I am transparent I am a nerd, I love spider-man stuff, I have my bachelor’s In English and it is reflected in my artistry. The most exciting thing about my music Journey is getting comments on my tiktok from Doja Cat im regards to my song “City Of Demons”. One of the comments she said verbatim ” When ever this song come up on my feed it feels like a rest stop from the chaos of this app.” Currently I am working on a follow up project to “That Real”, which featured “City Of Demons”, The follow up project is tentatively titled “That Real 2”

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I am still relatively early in my journey myself. It’s only been a little over two years, recording and releasing music. But for those even earlier in their music journey three qualities you want are patience, confidence and finally, it might be corny but, kindness. Kindness helps you go a long way, and has even put me into a position to even be interviewed by you. I am grateful.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am currently working on a collaboration with my friend Josh Samuels, who’s music stage name is Remy Represent. He is a friend of mine from college and it feels like a full circle moment to collaborate. I am also trying to collaborate with this singer Nadine Milad, her songs have this angelic like airy feel to them. Of her I am legit a big, huge, gigantic fan and I am truly excited for whats next in her solo work. For those that want to collaborate with me my email Kylebethel1a@gmail.com or my Ig and Tiktok both with the name Kylebethel_
