Meet Kylee Gomes

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kylee Gomes a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kylee, thank you for joining us today and sharing your experiences and acquired wisdom with us. Burnout is a huge topic these days and so we’d love to kick things off by discussing your thoughts on overcoming or avoiding burnout

As someone balancing a remote paralegal job while running Couture Kreations as a full-time entrepreneur, burnout is definitely something I’ve had to learn to overcome over the years. It’s a real thing and is rarely talked about. The key for me has been prioritizing self-care, time management and a flexible schedule.

I’ve learned that carving out time for myself isn’t a luxury but a necessity. Whether it’s a peaceful morning routine, movement that reconnects me to my body, or simply unplugging after a long day, these small moments help fuel me. Time management has become my foundation—not just for productivity, but for purpose and staying focused on achieving goals. I’ve been intentional about aligning my life in a way that supports both my personal growth and professional goals. Finding a remote job that offers flexibility has been a blessing, allowing me to not only honor my entrepreneurial journey with Couture Kreations but myself. It’s all about creating space for what matters and designing a life where both passion and peace can coexist.

When I feel stuck or face creators block, I try to change things up. Sometimes that means brainstorming with another business owner, researching my industry, bouncing ideas off my network, or attending local networking events to get inspired and re-energized. Other times, I lean into my WHY and reconnect with my vision and remind myself of my long term goal.

Burnout happens, but I’ve learned not to give up—I look at it as a sign to pause, reflect, and realign with both my passion and my personal well-being.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am the owner of Couture Kreations, a creative hobby that turned business born out of a basement from passion and hustle. CK has pivoted a few times into an e-commerce print company specializing in personalized gifts and wholesale promotional products. While the core focus is wholesaling high-quality custom drinkware, we also offer a wide range of branded accessories and apparel tailored to meet the needs of businesses of all sizes. Our products are ideal for business owners seeking unique ways to show appreciation to clients, reward employees, and can also be found in select local retail shops and gift boutiques.

We create custom-branded products for companies to use in their day-to-day operations—such as printed/engraved drinkware for bars/restaurants, personalized merchandise for gyms, or promotional products such as pens, keychains, or totes.

Couture Kreations proudly offers fundraising opportunities for schools, organizations, and community groups—allowing us to give back while providing memorable, customized items that generate support. During the holiday season, I participate as a vendor for local events with a design-on-demand approach, where customers can create personalized gifts on-site to be made and taken home.

I, as the owner, actively attend networking events/vendor fairs, and participate in chamber meetings to build connections, promote collaboration, and stay informed on community needs which is where alot of my client’s come from.

I’m not just creating custom products…. I’m helping people celebrate moments, grow their brands, or give back to causes they care about. Each item is made with intention, blending creativity, quality, and personal connection. It’s custom work with real meaning behind it and I LOVE seeing the final production that I get to hand over.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three key factors that have impacted my journey has been consistency, free community resources, and relationship-building. Consistently showing up to create content or simply research/brainstorming ideas has helped me keep momentum, even on the tough days. Being resourceful and taking advantage of the many free tools/resources available in the community for business owners has allowed me to learn and grow along the way, connecting me with mentors. I not only get a lot of my client’s from social media, but since my ideal clients are other business owners, building relationships through my local chamber, and constantly attending network events has helped grow my client list and get referrals.

My advice? Show up every day, stay consistent, and keep an open mind. Learn as you “grow”….And most importantly, get involved in your community—genuine relationships will take your journey further than you can imagine. Join local chamber, connect with SEED or SCORE to help create a business plan and the rest will follow.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m always looking to collaborate with business owners in need of thoughtful gifts or promotional products for their staff and clients, gift shops seeking high-quality items to resell, restaurants and bars looking to elevate their branding with custom glassware, and schools, nonprofits, and organizations interested in impactful, custom-based fundraising opportunities.
