Meet Kylie Gray

We recently connected with Kylie Gray and have shared our conversation below.

Kylie, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

“I keep my creativity alive by hanging out with my family and doing fun stuff like traveling to new places and seeing cool things. I like playing with my dog Kodie and watching him learn new tricks. I also love making art, writing stories, and playing songs on the piano. Sometimes I try new dance moves and dance at church too!”

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

“I love making up stories, and my very first book is called The Adventures of Kylie and Kodie! It’s all about me and my dog Kodie and the fun adventures we go on. The best part is getting to use my imagination and share my stories with other kids so they can join in the fun too. I’m super excited because my book just came out, and I get to do book signings where I meet new friends and sign their books. It feels like a big adventure all by itself!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

“The three things that helped me
the most were using my imagination, never giving up, and having people who cheer me on. My imagination helps me see the world in my own special way, never giving up helps me finish what I start, and my cheerleaders, like my family and friends, make me feel brave and proud of who I am. My advice is to believe in yourself, keep going even when it’s tough, and remember that your voice and your story matter!

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

“In the past year, I’ve gotten better at finishing what I start. Sometimes I used to get big ideas but not finish them, but now I’ve learned to keep going until it’s done. Writing and publishing my first book taught me that. I’ve also gotten better at speaking in front of people and sharing my ideas without feeling nervous.”
