Meet Kyng Curry

We were lucky to catch up with Kyng Curry recently and have shared our conversation below.

Kyng, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from, honestly… God & also what it mean to be black in America. Studying & understanding those that have laid the pavement before me. I know that it took tremendous faith, courage & resilience to do, believe in & accomplish what they’ve done. So I just embody that spirit & mind frame. It really helps me and fuels my passion and drive to reach & taking Power Of Blackness, my brand. To the next level and unseen heights.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I got by Kyng Curry, owner & creator for Power Of Blackness the Brand. What I love most about my brand is the reaction or the stories i hear when people wear my clothing. But, the most exciting part of it all is the impact that we have in our community. Especially the black & brown community. Giving back is important to us, but education is just as important to us or even more. Financial literacy is very important, however the younger you learn & understand it the more easier it gets as you grow. Things that you all can look forward to from me is also my up & coming production company names Kyng Production as found on Instagram. I am a portrait street photographer under this company as well.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Honestly everyone journey will be different, but three things I think are most important. To know, understand & embody are never quitting or giving up, never ever be afraid to fail. Understand that failure is also apart of the journey & most important to me is continuing to believe in yourself, your abilities & your vision. I will tell everyone these 3 things because the outcome from this is beyond what you originally imagined.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am looking for more people to collaborate with. For my brand & my photography. I would love to collaborate with new up & coming models. Male or female from different backgrounds & ethnicity. I want to work with those from the darkest complexion to the lightest complexion. If anyone is interested no matter where you reside. They can reach out to me on Instagram @Powerofblackness & or @kyngproduction.
