We were lucky to catch up with Kyoya López recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kyoya, so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?
There is a quote that someone told me once: “Hustle… Hustle until your haters are asking you for a job.”. Since that day, that quote has stuck with me and it is something that I actively aspire to. One of my main goals growing up was to be able to tell those people that doubted me: “Look!”. Basically to prove those people wrong and prove to them that I was in fact capable.
Most things that I am able to do now a days, I know how to do because someone probably told me, at some point, that I couldn’t do it; solving a Rubik’s Cube, playing and writing music, getting paid to play videogames, and working for government – to mention a few things. But, despite part of it being to prove people wrong, it also has to do with the fact that those are things that I enjoy doing.
If there is a thing that you enjoy doing, do it! Don’t let people tell you that your wishes or likes are stupid or that you should quit. As long as you are having fun and enjoying it, that’s all that matters. There will always be haters, there will always be people that are better than us at what we do; but that doesn’t mean we need to stop, in fact, it should inspire us to reach those levels and become a better version of ourselves while not changing who we are just because of the haters!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Well, My name is Kyoya López; I am a photographer, archer and content creator for Tiktok Brazil. Most of my content revolves around videogames, archery, Pokémon, and 3D printing. The thing that sets my content apart from other is the fact that it can appeal to various people due to the fact that my content is done in Portuguese, English and Spanish (with the occasional Japanese). Poliglot streamers and content creators are rare and typically revolve around travel and exploration; so being able to appeal to different audiences around the world on something other than travel is something that really helps.
Most of my content work is under Komorebi Studios; the brand name I created to house Notkyoyalopez, Komorebi Media, Komorebi Prints and Pokeyoya. Each one focusing on different areas and audiences but all revolving around my likes and hobbies.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Just do it!
Take that leap of faith and get into it! Put in those hours of work because nothing in this world is free and we work for what we want. Maybe you won’t see results in the beginning and you might want to quit. That is part of the journey and it is not something that should discourage you.
Do you have an idea for a video you want to make? Do it! You don’t need a high end camera or mic to get started and it is not necessary. All it takes is a good idea and determination. Be yourself, show your ideas, show your creativity and you will succeed.
That is my advice to anybody going into content creation or streaming. But it can be applied to anything! You got this!

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Collaborations are always welcome! If anybody is located in Denver, Co or São Paulo, Sp and wants to collaborate, I am in!
There really isn’t a niche that you need to have as long as we get along and make great content!
