Meet LA Laura Paris

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful LA Laura Paris. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with LA below.

LA, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
Never give up on your dreams. Dreams are like a car if you stop putting gas in it it will eventually stop. So you have to continue believing everyday in your dreams. You’ll eventually arrive at your destination. Don’t need to know how to get there but only where you want to go and let the universe guide you.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a French Pop Electro Artist, Singer-Songwriter, Composer, Producer, DJ, Dancer, and Awarded Film Director.

I produce Pop Electro, Pop Rock and Pop Acoustic songs. By living in Paris I got the chance to learn and collaborated with French Touch Producers. And after Paris I moved to Los Angeles and won an Award at the International Fashion Film Festival for the first music video I directed called “I’m Leaving Right Away”.

I add American Sign Language into my choreography with a spice of Bollywood dance, my idea is to make music available for everyone.
I’ve always loved diversity, in my last music video “Kissing Boys” I represented all kind of people kissing. For me love is beyond colors, genders, or age, love is UNIVERSAL!

I also do street art and have my stickers all over the world, you have maybe seen on the streets my tag “JUST DANCE MOTHER F💖💖💖💖💖”. I’ve been receiving pictures and videos of people dancing, its just beautiful to be ale to make people smile with just a sentence.

I love fashion, for many years I was modeling for fashion weeks and was always inspired by my mother who used to be a Fashion Model.
Actualy I design some of my stage clothes and I also have an online store @lalauraparis where you can find merch that will make you smile. 😁

I just released a new song called “Bad Bitch” with the Afro-Italian singer AfroGoldie. It’s a song empowering woman with French, Italian and English lyrics. My goal is to create a safe space for woman in the Music Industry.

I perform live shows with my Glitter Team, our shows includes dancers, vocalists, Analog synths and a lots of glitters ✨.

I’m so excited to announce that I’m planning a new single coming up in the next few month following with my first Album!!

You can find me on Instagram and Tiktok @lalauraparis

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I studied classical music since the age of 5, and being able to play the piano with a classical background helped me so much in my music carrier.

One of the quality I would say is culture. I only realised that when I was in the US away from Europe I started to include French in my songs. Now I realise that French culture makes me different and unique.

Music, Fashion and Art has been part of my life since I was a child, without them I wouldn’t be who I am today.

Just be yourselves, everyone has different stories so don’t try to be like someone else when you can tell your own story and be you, unique.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate one day with Pharrell Williams. I love the way his music production is so catchy and simple at the same time. I would also love to collaborate with Martin Solveig, Max Martin, Lady Gaga, The Rolling Stones, Michel Polnareff and Raveena Aurora. Visually it would be Ellen Von Unwerth I just love the aesthetics and colours of her fashion photographies.
