Meet Lacrecia Steward

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lacrecia Steward. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with LaCrecia below.

LaCrecia, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.

Oh, naysayers and haters? Shocking. The trick is simple: stay grounded in your goals, because obviously, they have nothing better to do than doubt your potential. Criticism? That’s usually just them projecting their own limits. So, surround yourself with people who actually support you, keep your vision clear, and, of course, practice self-care—someone’s gotta do it, right? Use their negativity as fuel, because if anything, your success is probably driving them crazy. Just trust yourself, stay focused, and let your results do the talking.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Thank you for the opportunity to share my story! I’m the founder of Lifestyle Lash Academy, where we’re dedicated to educating and empowering aspiring lash artists. Our academy focuses not only on the technical side of lash artistry but also on personal and professional development, helping students build confidence and entrepreneurial skills they can carry into their careers.

One of the most exciting aspects of our work is seeing students transform, both in skill and self-belief. The beauty industry is incredibly dynamic, and being able to contribute to it by supporting others’ growth is truly fulfilling.

Currently, we have some exciting new initiatives underway, including a February 2025 event with UT Tyler’s School of Medicine focused on skin health and pre-cancerous lesion awareness, specifically for lash techs and estheticians. This event aims to broaden the expertise of our graduates and licensed techs, giving them essential knowledge in areas that can elevate their careers.

Our academy’s mission is about more than beauty; it’s about creating a supportive community and giving professionals the tools they need to succeed and make an impact.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Reflecting on my journey, three qualities stand out as being particularly impactful: resilience, adaptability, and a focus on continuous learning.

Resilience has been the most essential in navigating the challenges and setbacks I’ve experienced. Building resilience starts with staying connected to your purpose and reminding yourself of the “why” behind what you’re doing. For those just starting out, remember that every challenge is an opportunity to grow, even if it doesn’t feel like it in the moment.

Adaptability has been the main thing. The beauty industry, like many others, is always evolving, so being open to change has helped me stay relevant and responsive to new trends. For those new to this path, practice embracing change and learning to pivot as necessary. It’s about seeing change as a chance to improve rather than something to fear.

Finally, continuous learning has kept me at my best. There’s always something new to learn, whether it’s a technique, business strategy, or simply a new perspective. My advice, seek out mentors, invest in high-quality training, and stay curious.

Together, these qualities have not only helped me grow my business but have also allowed me to stay passionate and driven.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes, I’m definitely open to partnerships and collaborations! I’m particularly interested in connecting with individuals, schools, and organizations in the beauty, wellness, and education sectors who share a commitment to educating and serving others. This could include industry experts, product vendors, medical professionals (like dermatologists or estheticians), and especially other educators who focus on skill-building and professional development. People think lashing is easy and can be learned in a few days. That is until they pick up a pair of tweezers! There’s so much to learning how to lash than meets the eye. That’s why it’s important to be trained by an experienced licensed professional.

For those interested in collaborating, please feel free to reach out! I’d love to discuss ways we can work together to make a positive impact in the beauty and wellness communities. You can connect with me directly by email: info@lifestylelashacademy.com or text 430-562-2572.
