Meet Lacretia L. Rogers

We were lucky to catch up with Lacretia L. Rogers recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lacretia L., so great to have you on the platform and excited to have you share your wisdom with our community today. Communication skills often play a powerful role in our ability to be effective and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your communication skills.

Communicating effectively requires being an effective listener. As I’ve continued to grow, I’ve learned the art of listening to eventually ask questions of clarity, based on what I’ve heard the other participant in the conversation say. This allows them to provide clarity or an affirmation that I understood what was being conveyed.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I own Detroit CEO Media, the parent company for Detroit CEO Magazine, and the Brave Ambition Radio Network. The most special thing about creating this platform is the people that are part of it. I’m humbled that I’ve been trusted to develop, produce, and distribute content featuring remarkable entrepreneurs and small business owners while building a network of equity, allowing other content creators to grow their brands. I have recently expanded the Detroit CEO Media portfolio to include the Brave Ambition Youth Academy for Creatives where students learn the elements of podcasting and the Brand Builder Masterclass where students of any age can learn how to build their brand for growth, scaling, and evolution.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Entrepreneurial vision and leadership, relationship-building skills, and developing a strong network, focusing on where/how you can add value. Reading more can provide insights into visionary thinking and effective leadership. Participate in events, focusing on developing leadership skills, strategic planning, and innovation. Find experienced entrepreneurs who are willing to provide guidance and share their experiences. Practice active listening to understand others’ perspectives and build stronger connections. Work on empathetic communication to express your ideas effectively. Join local business meetups, chambers of commerce, or professional associations to expand your network. Use social media to connect with industry influencers and potential collaborators.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m always open to collaborating with people who align and are easily identifiable by how they present themselves or how their brand is represented. If by reading this you determine you want to reach out, email me at [email protected] with “Let’s Collaborate” in the subject line. I’d be more than happy to speak with you.
