We were lucky to catch up with Lacy Galas recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Lacy with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I would say my work ethic comes from my passion for what I do. I truly love being a part of such an important milestone in someone’s life and helping bring their vision to reality. I’m often the very first step in their wedding day, and the getting-ready experience really sets the tone for how the rest of the day will unfold. That’s something I don’t take lightly, it’s not just another workday for me. It’s the beginning of a day my client has been dreaming of her entire life, and that drives me to show up as the best version of myself every single time.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the owner and lead artist of Blushing Ivory Bridal Co., where we specialize in bridal hair and makeup. What I love most about this work is that it’s so much more than just hair and makeup—it’s the start of one of the most important days of someone’s life. I get to help set the tone for the entire wedding day, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see a bride light up when she looks in the mirror and feels like the most confident, beautiful version of herself.
What makes my brand special is the experience we create during the “getting ready” part of the day. It’s not just about the final look, it’s about bringing calm, joy, and excitement into that space, so my brides and their parties can truly enjoy those once-in-a-lifetime moments.
Right now, I’m focused on continuing to grow Blushing Ivory Bridal Co. so we can serve even more brides each season. Our books for 2026 are already filling quickly, which is both humbling and exciting. My passion has always been making dream days come to life, and it’s an honor to get to do that for so many incredible clients.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that made the biggest impact on my journey are passion, adaptability, and professionalism. Passion is what fuels me, it’s what gets me excited to show up every weekend and give my best to every bride. Adaptability is huge in the wedding world, because no two weddings are ever the same. Every timeline and situation is unique, and being able to stay calm and flexible makes all the difference. And professionalism is what builds trust with clients. From communication to showing up on time and being prepared, I want my brides to know they’re in good hands.
For anyone just starting out, my advice would be: Treat your work like the professional business it is, even if you’re just beginning. The way you show up, communicate, and carry yourself goes a long way in building a strong reputation.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
Right now, Blushing Ivory is going through a transition. My business partner, Courtney Klaassen, has been with me for the past five years, and she’ll be retiring in 2026. That means I’m learning how to navigate the business as a solo artist while also building relationships with other trusted companies to support larger wedding parties. It’s definitely been a curveball, but it’s one I know I can handle. This season is really pushing me to grow, whether that’s learning new ways to balance my books, refining my communication, or stepping more confidently into leadership. While change is never easy, I’m excited about the opportunities it’s creating for both me and my brand moving forward.
