We recently connected with Ladiinova and have shared our conversation below.
Hi LadiiNova, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My parents for sure. Those are two people in my life that’s always kept a job. Even in their down time they are still working and doing things. They refuse to sit down.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am an author. I write poems, short stories and novels. The most exciting things about it is the way I can express myself. Possibly even express things for others without a voice or the fear to use it. I love creating different storylines and seeing how far things can go. The idea of taking people on a rollercoaster ride of emotions really lights a fire underneath me.
I’ve been working on relaunching my website and hopefully building a community over there. I share book reviews and a number of different creative works. I’d like for people to toss me some ideas and challenges to keep me sharp.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The biggest thing for me was to never lose my drive. Whether I wrote nonsense, or reworked an old piece, I had to keep writing. If I wasn’t able to write, I’d read. Reading other books kept my mind flowing and helped me to realize where I could be falling short. When that didn’t help, I went back to school.
Although it’s cheesy and lame, my advice is to just keep going. When you feel stuck it’s okay to reach out and find sources that guide you back on the right path. Whatever your passion is you can’t allow it to fizzle out when you get stuck.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
People say it takes a village to raise a child. Well I have a village that’s kept me on my toes and won’t let up. Of course God comes first and foremost in this list. He gave me the gift and I intend to thank Him for it. Next are my parents. Although they aren’t 100% excited about some of my work, that hasn’t stopped them from supporting me. My mama sends me links for contests and other sources at random, and my daddy bought books on the financial and publishing side of things.
In comes my siblings. My brother isn’t ready to read certain works of mine LOL, but he does his part in sharing them. He also helps me make tough decisions when I’m too worked up in my head. My sister does things in silence. She brings my name up at places and around people I would be too afraid to approach.
Last but never least is my person (Grey’s Anatomy reference). She pushes me out of my comfort zone and never lets me forget that I’m capable. She gives honest feedback on all my work and tells me ways I can improve. There was a point some years ago where I didn’t write at all. I lost the drive. She gave me homework assignments to sharpen me back up and here I am.
My village don’t play about me.
