Meet LaDonna Marie

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to LaDonna Marie. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation; we’ve shared it below.

LaDonna, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform, and we think there is so many folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
When I was younger, I felt broken and hurt with how I felt misunderstood as a person. The dreams and purpose for my life started to feel big, as I begin to tell others, what God had shared with me. God’s promise to me, was that as he healed me the words and poems, that I would write would so the same for others. To help them to know that they could overcome any obstacle in their path as long as they kept walking with Him. In the lowest point of my teenage life, I attempted to commit suicide, also in that moment God showed me my purpose of writing words that would encourage others to never give up. To understand that we all will have our own trials, we will make it through as we heal and place out trust in him. Today, as a 26-year survivor and I am grateful to be on the land of the living to encourage others.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I know believing in self was one of the most important things. I started sharing my dream at 14 and not many people believed. I had to keep believing that I heard from God and trust the process. Secondly tenacity in following and executing the dreams. It’s one thing to have the dream but is a different thing to release it and execute. I often tell people, no one can read the book in your belly or mind, meaning you have to get started. Thirdly Embrace the journey, is big. When we start on whatever path, you have to have the faith to embrace the journey, because sometimes it will not go in a straight line as you will think. There will be things that happen on your journey; however, you cannot let it deter you. Embrace why you started and keep moving forward.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes. most definitely. I’m looking for the readers to share my books with. I write for women and girls who are looking for the encouragement to know they can overcome and not stay stuck. I’m looking to share my books, with schools, parents, and organizations that are looking to purchase literature for their audience. I available to be booked for speaking engagements https://www.ladonnamarie.org/speaking.
