Lady Farley, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I realized systemically that WOMEN were being treated as if we had patterned our success off of the strength of men. From the boardroom to our home office, I realized that I was the main catalyst for success! That opened my eyes and my mindset,
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
What I do is uniquely identify the mental traps; much like the one that I found myself in as a Black Woman – In other Black Women and help them break those social and systemic restraints. That doesn’t necessarily make what I do unique; however the fact that I’ve trained women globally how to lead in their communities is. The FPI NETWORK was launched when I realized that I could be kept out of rooms that I fully qualified to be in but I couldn’t be stopped from building my own boardrooms. Then the #100WOMENSTRONGMOVEMENT was birthed. It’s the Non Profit chaired by FPINETWORK to help women break chains over their own lives.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Build your House: 1- welcome the right people/Leverage relationships.
2- Stay prepared/consistently equips success
3- Let only the qualified sit at your table.
4- Brick by brick – stay busy building your legacy. No shortcuts or cheap materials Do the work and before you know it- you’ll be sitting in the house that success built.
