We were lucky to catch up with LaJoyce Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
LaJoyce , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience runs deep. With Mississippi roots in tow my parents not only instilled in me the importance and power of resilience as a little girl they were the perfect models for what resilience looks like. My parents were born in Vicksburg Mississippi during a time where prayer, hard work and resilience is all they had, Segregation was a thing but it was the thing my parents were determined to escape. They moved to Chicago during the Great Migration age, secured jobs, then bought property. Hard work and perseverance was all around me from my aunts, uncles, and cousins. From the West side of Chicago to the Southside, resilience is and will always be a mantra of mine. Thank you Most High for blessing me with family who model resilience well.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am LaJoyce Williams (newly married) and madly in love with my husband. I am the creator and cultivator of Nubian Hue Non Brew, My company’s focus is health. I have created over 20 different vegan lattes in effort to encourage people to consume healthy products while they are on the go. The Faux coffee beverage as I would like to call it is all plant and herbal based with flavors that are not only delicious in taste but good to you. There are different hues to people, as well as different hues to my vegan lattes. I just want to meet people where they are on their health quest. The most exciting part about creating my vegan lattes is the expression on peoples face when they taste only to discover the health benefits. it is rewarding for me to give the people what they need while serving up a little vegan health in a bottle.
Since we have the vegan lattes down to a science I have recently added my supplement line in the mix to include the Female Enhancement, Mushroom Blend, and Ashwaganda Gummies and if that was not enough 2024 will be the year that I launch my well water product! Oh yes baby we are going back to living good and putting good things back in the body over here. Do not forget to shop my winter blends and make your own Faux coffee lattes at home.
My passion for cooking and creating healthful art with my beverages and supplements has inspired me to show you guys my creative way of cooking, so look for me to create a full service place dine and drink in the near future. Cant stop wont stop my three babies are watching, they are my motivators.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three most important qualities and/or skills that impacted my journey is my determination, my ability learn and explore and my ability to create. To those of you that are early in your journey in whatever it is you do remember to never give up, always educate yourself so that you can be a true expert in the field you seek success and create a plan for yourself. An effective plan will get you far. Trust me the odds were against me a million times but I am a living testimony that what you seek can manifest itself!

No one person can do everything alone, especially not in business so with that being said I am always looking for partnerships.
