We recently connected with LaJuan Ransom Jr and have shared our conversation below.
Hi LaJuan, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity accrue from my mother. Growing up she has always taught me to do well by others, learn to give back. As she always mentioned when you do good things, It will come in return no matter how it happens. She will have me volunteer to help the unsheltered at the rescue mission downtown Nashville. Watching her do good deeds to others always came back to us as a blessing. I’ve always seek to help others in life. lifting as I climb and building bridges to help individuals. Having a good heart will is a tough thing to have but it will pay off.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
What I’m focusing on now is my new fragrance product for men that is soon to launch. Also, focusing on the trucking industry as well, so there are a few things I have my mind set to. What’s new for Nashville Soles is “ recycling week” every month. It is our donation program that allows us to receive gently used shoes that are given to us to repair and donate to children and for the unsheltered. Our purpose is to keep shoes recycled and used. I am currently working on a few tools for clients to use to enhance the solution of cleaning shoes. There will be better product, better tools, and more events to donate shoes for others.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge advice I will tell folks is to learn your audience, know your strengths and weaknesses, and have patience. Learning your audience will enhance your ability to study the history of analytics to think on what attracts individuals to your business. Knowing what seasons is best for your business. Or what can you improve. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses is based on what can you do to better your solution on being an entrepreneur. Strength wise you have to ask yourself what am I doing that’s keeping my clients faithful and how can I continue to be consistent and better. Your weakness can come down to what’s giving me these unsatisfying reviews, having minimum complaints because we’re not perfect, or what is selling the least that we can improve. Things in that manner to think about. Last thing is patience which is the hardest thing most people struggle with. I’ve been growing this business for three years. It’s just apart of the game that we have to learn. Always be a student and learn. Continue to be consistent and your time will come.

The type of individuals I would like to collaborate with would be nonprofit organizations, recycling programs, donation programs, shoe artist ( paint, sketch, dye), and lastly shoe repair. Me stating that is to inform people that we are a cleaning service that will clean the grim and remove scuffs from shoes.
