Meet Lakesha Henderson

We recently connected with Lakesha Henderson and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Lakesha, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
It comes from my grandparents on my mother and father’s side. I saw how generous they were with their time and gifts. I watched my grandmothers pray for people they didn’t know and spoke to people with a smile they had never seen before. I watched my grandfather’s help those in need and go and visit the sick in shut in. I can remember my moms mom telling me Kesha you can’t help everybody and still to this day I try my darndest to do so. I did ask God to allow me to help those who are open in receiving my help.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As we stare into the fourth quarter of the year. I stand trying to make sure my business is aligned and flourishing the way a successful business should. Times get rocky because it’s just me and if I’m being honest I want to run away from it all. But then I remember this isn’t for me it’s for others who have been in similar situations as myself. Single moms, those who battled with low self esteem and just not feeling worthy of greatness. I need others to see the work in me didn’t come from me but it came from me being obedient to do his will and if he can do it for me he can do it for them as well. So when I tell everyone I’m the owner of a Plus Size Boutique and it’s more than just that it’s my ministry it’s a sisterhood. It’s always been in me to be a nurturer and I’ve done just that, from being a mom and nana being in the medical field over twenty years and helping those in the community. We’re here to be advocates for our plus size ladies while nurturing their mental needs as well. This year I had to pause a few of my events just because God said so. Which is perfectly fine with me. I just know it will be greater next year. So be on the lookout for “Girl Your A Boss” 2024 we’re also planning a Galentines Brunch in February.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I really didn’t understand the meaning of self development but it’s very important in anything you do. Networking has never been a problem for me because I promise I make friends everywhere I go…. The number one thing you will have to invest into yourself is don’t always be looking for others to do so. RESEARCH,RESEARCH,RESEARCH… Please do your research for yourself and don’t take everyone’s word for it. I promise it will save you a lot of money and headache.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m looking to collaborate with content creators in my niche. Those who love fashion and looking to collab with plus size boutique owners. I would love to partner up with those who design shoes, jewelry anything to do with fashion. Music artists, realtors, speakers etc.
