We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lamarr Lyons a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lamarr, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Knowing you have a purpose to fulfill, you kinda don’t think about who people may perceive you to be. I just do what I’m told and I do whatever feels right in the moment.
Am I right for the job? Am I supposed to be carrying this weight? Maybe, I’ll never know unless I try.

Hello, I am the CEO and host of a concert series by the name of CULTR NASH. It happens in Nashville Tennessee every fourth Friday. CULTR NASH, Nashville’s Safest Space Is A Place Where Community And Creativity Meets. We curate a dynamic and inclusive showcase celebrating the artistry, creativity, and energy of Black creators. Our space serves as a sanctuary for artists and creatives alike to connect, collaborate, and express themselves authentically in an atmosphere brimming with good energy. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
3 Most Important Qualities I Would Say Are Trust, Prayer And Belief. Trust That Those Around You Will Show You That They Have Your Best Interest And See Your Vision For What It Is. Prayer Changes Things And Prayer Works!! Center Yourself In Times That Seem Hard. Belief! Believe In The Very Thing That Seems Impossible! Don’t Let Anyone Tell You Otherwise!!
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
Well, I Think Artist/Creative All Over The World Can Relate To What I’m About To Say. My Mother Has Pulled Me Out Of Many Financial Uh Oh’s lol From Feeding Me To Filling My Gas Tank Up All The To Paying My Rent Some Months! She Has Helped Me Get Through Life While I Live Out My Purpose. She Has Even Been A Huge Financial Help To CULTR NASH!
