Meet Lanny Williams

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lanny Williams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Lanny, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Developing my confidence and self-esteem has been a gradual journey shaped by self-reflection, learning from experiences, and setting small, achievable goals. I started by acknowledging my strengths and recognizing areas where I could improve, as a kid I used to compare myself to other people to see why I was so different. I was ashamed to look people in their eyes and found it very difficult to accept compliments from others as i felt I was not deserving of it which allowed me to approach challenges with a growth mindset. I Surrounding myself with supportive people who believed in me also played a significant role in boosting my confidence. I learned to celebrate even small successes, which built momentum and a positive self-image. Additionally, when faced with setbacks, instead of letting them define me, I viewed them as opportunities to learn and grow. Over time, I began to trust myself more, accepting that mistakes are part of the process, and that my value isn’t defined by perfection. This combination of self-compassion, persistence, and support has been key in developing my confidence and self-esteem.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am the founder of ModelKings, a group with a bold mission: to bring awareness to the world through fashion and style— but with a difference. We are a collective of men, setting out to redefine what it means to be a role model. Our vision extends beyond the runway, focusing on empowering young boys and men in our communities. As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child,” and we aim to be that village—lifting each other up, supporting one another, and breaking down barriers.

Fashion has always been a part of me. From a young age, I was drawn to style, not just as a trend, but as a form of self-expression. I was always different, always peculiar, and even before I understood what a trendsetter was, I was already creating my own looks. I was never one to follow; I was a leader, pushing the boundaries and making my own path. What excites me most about my work as a model is the opportunity to continue breaking barriers and creating outside of the box. The fashion industry is constantly evolving, and after five years in the field, I am continuously learning, adapting, and challenging myself.

But my journey hasn’t been without its struggles. The person I am today was shaped by overcoming low self-esteem and the feeling of not being “good enough.” Despite these challenges, there was always a quiet voice inside telling me that there was greatness within me. That voice kept me going, and today, I stand as proof that belief in yourself can turn dreams into reality. To anyone reading this—never let the doubts of others stop you from chasing your dreams. Trust in your own potential, and always believe that you are capable of achieving greatness. With persistence, passion, and self-belief, anything is possible.

Together, as ModelKings, we strive to create a lasting impact—both in fashion and in the lives of young men we aim to inspire.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three most important skills that have truly helped me along my journey are:

Surround Yourself with People Who Believe in Your Craft: One of the biggest keys to growth is having a support system that believes in you and your vision. The right people—those who encourage you, push you, and challenge you—can make all the difference when things get tough.

Always Be Consistent: Consistency is vital in everything you do. Whether it’s showing up every day, practicing your craft, or maintaining your commitment to your goals, consistency breeds success. It’s not about being perfect, but about staying dedicated and continuously improving.

Be Open-Minded to Receive Constructive Criticism: No one grows without feedback. Being open to constructive criticism is essential for personal and professional development. Embrace feedback as a tool for growth—it helps you refine your skills, see things from different perspectives, and ultimately improve.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Collaborating for Growth and Impact
In today’s fast-paced and ever-evolving world, I’m always open to the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals and brands who share the drive to reach their maximum potential. Collaboration is about growth, not just for myself but for others too. I believe in mutual success, where we push each other to elevate our work and achieve our best.’m looking for partners who are serious about themselves and their brand—those who understand that in business, it’s about what makes sense and creates value, not personal feelings. The right collaboration has to align with both our visions and goals for it to be truly impactful.

If you are someone who is passionate, dedicated, and ready to take things to the next level, I’d love to connect and explore how we can collaborate. Let’s make something great happen!

Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in partnering or discussing potential opportunities!
