We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful LaPria Davis. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with LaPria below.
LaPria, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I developed my confidence and self esteem for myself by always setting a goal for myself and also speaking daily affirmations to myself. Practicing positive self talk can take you a long way and that’s one of my methods. Also, always staying positive and having self management plays a big factor of developing my confidence and self esteem. It’s a balance for the lifestyle.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is LaPria Davis and I am a serial entrepreneur. I label myself as such because of the many hats I am under and always taking on to better myself as well as my brand. I am an entrepreneur, author, investor, and a public speaker. I am the CEO of Davis Dynasty Resources which the organization consists of logistics, trucking, and management. The company transports many different products from within the state of Florida. The business takes on more of transporting vehicles and getting them to and from their drop off location.
What I feel is special about this business or profession is that you can set your own hours and be independent. Also while driving to different cities and learning new things sightseeing. Something that’s new that maybe coming up is expanding the fleet so that there can be more than one truck on the road and having opportunities for people that maybe interested in trucking.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that were most impactful in my journey was my passion and if you want to reach your own goals you have to care about what your vision is because nobody sees it but you. Secondly is having a mentor. I think having a mentor is your greatest influence during this process they can give you some insight on the ins and outs. Lastly, having self-discipline you need it more than anything to keep that momentum going so you can stay locked in with your vision.
The advice that I do have for the people early on in their journey is to keep the focus. Don’t ever give up the focus and make sure that you are consistent with your craft whatever that maybe YOU have to be your own cheerleader.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my mother has done for me is just always being there for me. Her presence has always been the number one impactful thing for me as her daughter. She also listens and follow behinds my dreams she never doubts what I think or vision and I feel like you need a parent like that in your corner. My mother is a very strong, smart and intelligent woman and when someone understands what you’re building it’s no greater feeling than having that. I will forever be grateful and that’s what impact she’s done for me and my process of entrepreneurship.
