Meet Laquisha Parker

We recently connected with Laquisha Parker and have shared our conversation below.

LaQuisha , thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.

I would have to say that my generosity comes from the experience of knowing how it feels to be unsupported

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am an educator by day, and I also own an operate, a mobile, lemonade stand, “The Lemonade Lady”
I started my lemonade, stand officially as a business in June 2023. However, my lemonade stand started as a summer fundraiser for my students, who wanted to raise money for field trips and summer activities.
I prepare my lemonade using a generational recipe, passed down to me from my Granny, and I have been making this lemonade since I was about five years old.
I enjoy sharing my lemonade with the community and often sponsor community events. I also have a business page on IG, where you can place orders for delivery, as well as book me for social events and gatherings.
In the future, I would love to see my bottles of lemonade in grocery stores, coffee shops etc. currently , I am solely focused on continuing to serve my community with lemonade prepared with love that you can literally taste in each sip!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Three qualities, that for me, are the most impactful on my journey as an entrepreneur, have been community, connection, and collaboration.
I feel that these three qualities are best established by getting out in the community, connecting with the people, as well as the cultures, in your community and finding ways to best support each other and share experiences that can expand perspectives and learning.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

The last 12 months for me have been a transformation of receiving and also letting go. I am open to what the universe has for me along my journey as an entrepreneur, and I am also being very intentional in letting go of things that do not serve me on my journey.
