Meet Laryssa Suaid

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Laryssa Suaid a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Laryssa, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my purpose through a combination of passion, family influence, and the journey of self-discovery that came with overcoming challenges. Photography has been a part of my life since childhood, with my grandfather and father both being photographers. Their work sparked my initial interest, but it wasn’t until I started capturing moments myself that I realized how much joy it brought me to preserve memories for others.

Over time, as I worked in different studios and began focusing on weddings, I realized my true purpose was to tell love stories through imagery. There’s something deeply fulfilling about being entrusted with such important moments in people’s lives and knowing that the memories I capture will be cherished for generations.

The obstacles I faced, like moving to a new country and rebuilding my business, only reinforced my sense of purpose. Each challenge made me more determined and clear about why I love what I do—because it’s more than a job. It’s my way of connecting with people, preserving emotions, and creating lasting stories through photography and videography.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

At Roseman Suaid, we specialize in capturing the magic of weddings through photography and videography. What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to be part of such a significant day in people’s lives, preserving moments that will be cherished forever. Each wedding is unique, and I take pride in capturing those genuine emotions and fleeting moments that reflect the essence of each couple’s story.

What sets my brand apart is the attention to detail, a passion for storytelling, and a commitment to delivering beautiful, timeless imagery in a fast turnaround time. Whether it’s the joy of the first dance, the emotion during vows, or candid moments shared between friends and family, every moment matters, and we make sure our clients can relive them through our work.

As for something new, I’ve been thinking about creating online classes for beginning photographers. This has been on my mind for quite some time, but I never felt fully capable of taking that step. Recently, seeing so many people online offering courses, even without much expertise, has given me the strength and confidence to move forward with this idea. I’m excited about the possibility of sharing my knowledge that I build for over 15 years and experience, with those who are just starting their photography journey.

Our goal is to continue growing and providing the best possible service, creating lasting memories through our photography and videography that reflect the unique love story of each couple we work with.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities have been most impactful in my journey: perseverance, adaptability, and attention to detail.

Perseverance: This has been key to overcoming the various challenges I’ve faced, from starting my business to moving to a new country. For those just starting, I recommend staying committed, even when things seem tough. Success doesn’t happen overnight, and setbacks are a natural part of the journey. Learn from them and keep moving forward.

Adaptability: The ability to adapt to new situations—whether it’s evolving technology, changing client needs, or new trends—has been essential for growth. My advice is to remain open to learning new things and embrace change. Photography is constantly evolving, and staying flexible will allow you to grow with it.

Attention to Detail: In photography, the little things matter, whether it’s the composition of a shot or the emotions in a moment. Developing a keen eye for detail is crucial, and you can improve this by practicing regularly and seeking constructive feedback from mentors or peers. Pay close attention to what makes each image powerful and unique.

For those early in their journey, focus on honing these qualities by practicing often, embracing challenges, and constantly seeking to learn and improve.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

One book that has significantly impacted my entrepreneurial thinking is Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon. The book emphasizes that creativity is all about drawing inspiration from the world around you and remixing it to create something new. It highlights the idea that nothing is truly original, and that’s okay—it’s about taking ideas, adding your personal touch, and making them your own. This philosophy has been a huge influence on my approach to photography and business, reminding me to stay open, learn from others, and constantly evolve my craft.
