Meet Lasaraha Bell

We recently connected with Lasaraha Bell and have shared our conversation below.

Lasaraha, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
How did I find my purpose? Good question well it’s a funny thing I guess because I feel like sometimes I came out my mothers womb knowing what my purpose in life is now the way I have been fulfilling my purpose I would have never thought in a million years I would do it this way (laughing) ever since I was a little girl I have always had the heart to serve and mentor and help people for many years I did so many things to serve people I worked in the medical field as a nurse for many years which for me I thought I was fulfilling my purpose that way because I was coming in contact with so many people and was able to be a help to them as a nurse but of course I would always feel like I wasn’t doing enough so I would spend some time mentoring the youth and I did some social work assistance at a nursing home in that I would meet their families and be a help for the whole family so of course you would think that I would feel fulfilled right well yeah for a while I was like yes I’m living out my creators promise for me and then something happened in my life that changed my whole outlook on what I was doing it was December of 2016 when my only Sister gained her wings as she passed from breast cancer and during that time I was feeling so unfulfilled I was feeling like I needed to do something that would be something that her and I could have done together so I started thinking really hard what would her and I have wanted to do together and be able to make a difference and bring some happiness to people and it came to me we love looking good feeling good we loved getting our hair done so I started thinking of different things that would help me create a legacy for our families but also I would be able to use my platform to help people and all I could see was my mother telling me and my sister “if you look your best you can feel your best” she still tells me that anytime I need to hear it (laughing) but that’s when it came to me hair become a Hair Vendor so I started learning everything I needed to know about becoming a raw hair vendor I took a whole year to learn about quality and different types and textures ect…… and then in 2017 I birthed Laviv Virgin Hair Boutique LLC. Since birthing Laviv my life has changed so much and it has been such a fulfilling thing because I have been able to use my platform to not only help people but also honor my sister and do something that her and i would do together if she was still here with us I have used my platform to still mentor our youth by going and talking to them about going after their purpose and sharing with them about what it’s like being an entrepreneur I have also been able to donate wig units every year to people who are battling cancer or suffering from severe hair loss

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Since opening my business I am still invested in selling quality hair to my customers but also I have since worked on expanding and is now working on soon to Launch Laviv Beauty Day spa which will be a one stop shop you will be able to get your hair, nails, and esthetics done and as well you can come and purchase hair products as well as Your quality Laviv Virgin Hair and more. I’m also working on becoming health insurance qualified so I can tap into the medical field to be able reach more people to help them. They say God has a sense of humor I tell you I surely think that sometimes because if you asked me years ago what I think I would be doing today it definitely would not be this but ask me that today I wouldn’t have it no other way I truly love what I do!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back 3 things that has been most impactful 1. Picking up the pieces after tragic loss 2. Remembering my WHY!
3. Creating a Legacy for my Sister and I family

Some advice for someone who is early in their entrepreneurial journey would be is remember slow is fast and fast is slow don’t make hasty decisions because something seems so to good to be true keep an opened mind in how you want or see certain things and be a solopenuer but delicately find you a team that sees your vision and believes in your vision just as you do and grow and last but not least be humble and remember there will be so many who will try to do what you do but continue to push through because the truth is they will never be able to do it just as you because the key is to always dare to be different!
