Meet LaShon Jones

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful LaShon Jones. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with LaShon below.

LaShon, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my mother. She has always been the person that I looked to for guidence and watching how she made things happen with very little helped me realize how hard I have to work. She was the first person to tell me to follow my passions and when things get tough lean on your abilities.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the owner and creator of Got What U Need Network/ Jones Media Consulting Group, LLC. My company Got What U Need Network consist of Podcast and a Roku TV App with production created by my company and by other independent content creators. Jones Media Consulting Group is my tech and professional development business. We are a small company but we have 10 employees and we build apps and help small companies and brands develop a footprint.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I am not sure if I can call out three qualities or skills but I have a music and radio brackground. For podcasting and developing shows it was somewhat east for me because I have a creative background and I am comfortable doing that. I think the advice I would give others would be to stop procrastinating and just get it done. Also do not let people that are not on your journey tell you how to make moves during your journey.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My wife is the main person in my life that provides me the ability to overcome challenges within this business journey. She is my business partner and she pushes me to be better in my everything moves. When I feel like I do not have the skills or need to obtain the skills she points me the right direction.
